Alexis Clairault

Alexis Claude クレロー (Alexis Claude Clairaut, from May 13, 1713 to May 17, 1765) is French mathematician, astronomer, geophysicist. There was an achievement in the field of the astrodynamics.

I was born in Paris. Father is a mathematician, too. I showed talent of the mathematics since I was young and announced the article about the fourth geometry curve at 13 years old in a French scientific academy. It was admitted that I became the member of the scientific academy at 18 years old in 1731. The investigating group which surveyed the meridian arc head to check a shape of the earth with Pierre Louis モーペルテュイ and cash register no ウーティエ and others in 1736 increased it and engaged in an investigation in Lapland. After returning home, I analyzed a shape of the earth which turned based on hydrodynamics and announced it as "Théorie de la figure de la terre" ("an earth shape theory") in 1743.

I wrestled in the field of the astrodynamics and gave a presentation on the solution of the three-body problem afterwards in an academy in 1747. I put influence of the perturbation by the planet for expectation of the recurrence of 1759 of Halley's comet of the Edmond fine weather and revised it. I left geometry and an algebraic superior textbook.
