90 degrees pulse

90 degrees pulse

A 90 degrees pulse (90 ど pulses, 90-degree pulse) in the observation of MRI or the NMR is an RF pulse to turn the direction of the magnetization vector just 90 degrees judging from a rotary coodinate system. An RF pulse to defeat the direction of the macroscopic magnetization vector of the nuclear spin put all over a certain uniform magnetic field 90 degrees on x-y plane from the z-axis direction.

Judging from a laboratory coordinate system, the magnetization vector falls down on x-y plane while describing a spiral track.
