History
It was unknown about the foundation generations of this temple, but it was near current Saga Seiryouji at first and it was a prayer place of the Emperor Gosaga, but declined for a long time. Because business magnate Ryoi Suminokura condoled with the late people by construction to excavate Ooi River in the early period of Edo era, I let 1,000 light temples which there was in the office of Saga move to the present location.
After having lost the や precincts other than a temple enshrining the Goddess of Mercy after having declined by the Meiji Restoration once, I gradually rebuilt the main halls of a Buddhist temple, but suffered big damage by Ise Bay typhoon of 1959. Most of roofs were blown off and got over both the main hall of a Buddhist temple and the temple enshrining the Goddess of Mercy by temporary repair, but the main hall of a Buddhist temple was dismantled in 1978. Current temporary main hall of a Buddhist temple and 仮庫裏 are built, but are small prefab house architecture afterwards. A state that a wire was X-shaped on the part of the window and intersected, and to disturb scenery continued for a long time without the temple enshrining the Goddess of Mercy being a state of the temporary repair for a long time, and the building made with the stage being supported with a metal wire, and the tree composing type part under the floor being covered on a white seat for the construction to cover the wire, and being able to appear on the railing part. It was 2012, and official repair work was carried out, and the temple enshrining the Goddess of Mercy regained an original figure.
The current temple enshrining the Goddess of Mercy is assumed the temple of an abacus and mathematics, the science improvement for Mitsuyoshi Yoshida of the author of the description of dust kalpa in Ryoi Suminokura who planned excavation of Hozu River and the whole families (maternal grandfather).
