The Yamaguchi information art center (やまぐちじょうほうげいじゅつ center, Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media) is compound facilities such as a library, a hall, the art museum in Nakazonocho, Yamaguchi-shi, Yamaguchi. I perform a plan exhibition about the mass-media art that is the art using a computer and the picture, and there are the production facilities, the presentation hall mainly, too. History
It was built in 2003. The designer is architect Arata Isozaki. I comprise the municipal library where it is the first among former Yamaguchi-shi (before merger), and there are other galleries, studios, restaurants, too. Yamaguchi broadcasting station of the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation is it in a building of the Yamaguchi cablevision in the west side in the east side.
By the huge business that Yamaguchi-shi hung time more than ten years in order to redevelop big space space (Yamaguchi Prefectural gymnasium and Yamaguchi Tateyama mouth center Senior High School move ruins) where there was this in the city area center, the construction costs of facilities were 7 billion yen, things to need 500 million yen to the maintenance cost a year of facilities. Therefore, it became the Mayor Yamaguchi election issues of the spring of 2003, and the construction stopped it following the fact that candidate Eiichi Goshi who raised construction freeze was elected you, and business itself was anxious about at one time, but advanced and construction and the business were reopened after all and opened talks including the citizen participation in business by the citizen committee on November 1, 2003.
In September, 2004, typhoon 18 hits Yamaguchi directly. A roof was blown off and was scattered in people.
