Toru Otsu

I see the Nagoya-jo Castle area from the authority of brocade Otsu intersection. There are more office buildings in this neighborhood than Sakae intersection and to the south with many shopping buildings such as department stores.

The main street where Toru Otsu (according to Ootsu) carries through Nagoya-shi, Aichi center to the north and south. I point to approximately 9km from Uchidabashi, Atsuta-ku to Shiromitori, Kita-ku. Originally there is this name as just what to lead to the sea (Otsu) and is established as a nickname of the formal road by Nagoya-shi [¹]. It is known even that native district genius line of the Nagoya Festival passes it in the section to the Yabacho intersection in front of the Nagoya-shi government office of the center.

Which chic department store and large size commercial facilities, shops of the foreign countries famous brand crowd, and Matsuzakaya, Mitsukoshi, MARUEI's Kyle, Parco, lah form a domestically eminent high quality specialty store street between the wards of approximately 700m from this Sakae intersection to the Yabacho intersection. I am in so-called Osu area when I go over Wakamiya Odori from the Yabacho intersection.

It is right under this road, and, except the neighborhood of Nagoya-jo Castle, Aichi prefectural office, the subway does not go. This is related to Nagoya streetcar (Ozu-machi Line, Atsuta Line) having run over Toru Otsu from Otsu bridge and to the south at the time of subway construction. Subway Meijo Line goes along Hisayaodori running side by side near, the bottom of the authority of former Tsu. But Toru Otsu becomes the bus route which a city bus (11, Sakae, 21, Sakae system) runs for the whole line now.
