Slide glass and cover glass

In the case of the observation using the optical microscope, slide glass (British: Microscope slide) is a glasswork to use to ride a minute sample mainly. I am called the slide glass.

It is usually narrow side around 2.5cm, long side around 7.5cm, thickness around 1.2mm.

I put a sample on this and call the thing which I pick it up with cover glass and prepared in the state that is convenient for observation with a prepared slide.

A standard and term

Cutting apart

I only made cutting apart from original flat glass and do not handle the edge face. An angle is sharp, and attention is necessary for the handling, but is cheap.

縁磨

In a concept to match with cutting apart, chamfering polished an edge face. I mellow, and the handling becomes safe, but only the amount is expensive.

Water (or "water glass")

A thing using the normal soda-lime glass. By iron content included in, I color light green. Cheap.

White (or "white glass")

A thing using the water-clear glass such as borosilicate glasses. Slightly expensive.

Frost

I assumed edge around 1cm of long side one frosted glass and enabled the note with pencils.

Hall

Cover glass

Cover glass is a thin glasswork to pick you up on the sample which I put on the slide glass. I say the cover glass. I am called cover slip or cover glass in English.

There are many original quadrates of one side of around 1cm, but there is the thing which did a circle and a rectangle. The thickness is around 0.17mm from 0.15mm.
