Petit point

Petit point

Petit point (Petit Point) (プチポアン) is a kind of the embroidery. I let you do the thing which you put 121-225 tent stitches (technique to resemble a half cross-stitch, and to construct a lot of threads across the back of the piece of cloth, and to stab it with) per 1 square centimeter for by hand embroidery using a magnifying glass in technique thought out in Vienna of the 18th century.

Because eyes are small, unlike normal cross-stitching, I can perform pictorial expression. It is traditional embroidery of Vienna, but in late years a lot of things of the machine embroidery made in cheap Korea appear.

Including Marie Antoinette, it is said that women of the House of Hapsburg liked it.

In Japan, Michiko Kuke of the handicrafts writer publishes a book about the petit point [1]; [2].

In addition, I may call a small jewel and the accessories of the pearl プチポアン. I am used for a collar or the cuffs as one point.
