Characteristic
レイジング M50 is the product which Harlin ton & Richardson Corporation who is famous for a cheap soft felt hat-type turn-type handgun developed and sold for the police in 1941.
It is the design which made much of precision by the semi-auto shooting than the Thompson submachine gun series of the same period and adopts a delay ditch roebuck method and does percussion from a closed bolt and comprises heterogeneous mechanism with other military use submachine guns. However, the method to delay the retreat of the bolt by the frictional resistance with the engine part needed frequent maintenance to sand and dust weakly.
In addition, I will bring about inconvenience in cleaning and the maintenance because generally I buried コッキングハンドル established in this kind of firearms in the upper part in the barrel lower part in M50.
World War II
U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps adopted M50 as the backward military unit equipment at first and remained in few introduction. However, when the Pacific War began, and the importance of the submachine gun in the fight in islands was recognized widely, I adopted M50 as the front line equipment some other time, and a procurement plan accelerated it. Deployment of the Thompson series developed earlier is given priority to over the army, and this is because procurement in the navy and the Marine Corps was difficult.
The problem with the fault of the engine part which mentioned above and the special layout of コッキングハンドル appeared conspicuously in the jungle of the Pacific front. Originally it had been the design as the submachine gun for the police which could have room toward maintenance, and the reliability of M50 in the battlefield was extremely low. In addition, reaction was big, and a common name called the rising (happen) that parodied a product name was posted at the time of shooting in the Marine Corps by the barrel jumping up. Still the close combat including the Solomon Islands was light in the southern jungle which there was many and took it, and a mawashi was good, and it was useful between the Marine Corps レイジング M50 which showed heat momentarily.
When three points of Thompson engine gun, a rising engine gun, the M3 engine gun reprinted it from 鹵獲 done United States Armed Forces document, the illustration which is supposedly it is belonging to it, and, in documents of the Japanese army made in February, 1944, it is introduced about the submachine gun which U.S. forces are equipped with [1].
The main supply was the American Marine Corps, but a part was supplied to Canada forces and Soviet Union Red Army troops that were the alliance national military, and they were used until 1950.
The post
The malfunction of the engine part by sand and the dust was not canceled after all. From the last years of World War II to the postwar period, a substitute with the Thompson series advanced in army and navy and the Marine Corps, and most M50 disappeared by the end of the war although they left a few shortening-shaped M55 for the paratroops.
But the appearance that was not too aggressive with the wooden ski pole of M50 and accuracy of the semi-auto shooting were almost popular and, in the police which were an original user, were used for a long time with M60 and M65 of the car bottle model in postwar period.
The production continued until 1945, and I finally matched all variations, and more than 10,000 orders were made (as for one Thompson, 1,700,000 of them are produced for a total).

- The model who dedicated to semi-auto, and extended the barrel.
- I was deployed in the police and was adopted as training use and rear military equipment just a little in the military. Few production.
