Libyan railroad
I illustrate by the Libyan railroad (Libyan のてつどう) about a railroad in Libya. There was not the railroad which I operated in Libya in since 1965, but a railway network has ever existed. In addition, as of 2014, the construction of the large-scale railway network is pushed forward [1].

History
In Italy which ruled Libya, nearly 400km built the railroad between the 950mm gauge once in Libya. The railroad which Italy started construction of last linked Benghazi to Tripoli, and was started in the summer of 1941, but the construction was canceled at an early stage of stage by defeat of World War II [2].
I practiced medicine as part of the rule of Italy on March 17, 1912, and there was the railway network between the 950mm (3 feet of 1 3⁄8 inches) gauge around Tripoli. This linked ズワーラ (Zuwarah) of 120km west, gal yarn (Gharyan) of 100km south, タジュラ (Tajura) of 10km east from Tripoli.
In addition, the railroad of the 750mm (2 feet of 5 1⁄2 inches) gauge of a track (done 改軌 between 950mm gauge later) existed separately from this around Benghazi. This railroad assumed 110km to バルカ (Barca) (now Al Mali Al Marj) the main line and was inaugurated progressively for until 1911 through 1927. In addition, there was the branch line of 56km inaugurated in 1926 to スルーク (Suluq).
From バルカ to デルナ (Darnah), approximately 40km was extended during World War II in military purposes. In the section where this route was abolished last in Libya, it was the end of 1965.
From the turning point where there was a railroad of the standard gauge to east 10km of Egyptian mark roux (Matruh) to トブルク, it was built for the purpose of the area defense of the alliance national military during World War II. As a result of progress in the North Africa front of the alliance national military, the route of this 350km was completed in 1942. The section of 125km of Libya west than Egyptian サルーム (Sallum) is abolished on December 20, 1946 and was removed, but, as for the サルーム branch line of the Egyptian railroad, a freight train is occasionally still operated.
Current plan
As of 2014, a plan to build the railway network of the standard gauge for 3,170km exists [1]. As a result, the route to build along the shore will form a part of the communication railroad of the North Africa which links Tunisia to Egypt. A section to スルト is building it now via Tripoli from Ras Ejder in the border with Tunisia. Chinese Tekken Construction undertook it and started construction of 352km from スルト to フムス (Al Khums) in June, 2008 and was going to be completed in 2013 [3]. These East-West routes were going to become the double track. However, on March 1, 2011, the project was called off by the reason of political situation uneasiness [4].
I am going to operate 800km from the iron ore mountain in Wadi Shati close to セブハ to Misratah with ironworks and the port, and another route was going to be completed in 2012 [3], but this cancels it, too [4].
Furthermore, section of 554km from スルト to Benghazi is planned. The Russian railroad submitted the feasibility study (feasibility investigation) about this project in October, 2007 and contracted the construction by a plan of the term of works of 4 years in 2008 [5]. The construction was started on August 30, 2008 [6]. In August, 2010, the train service in Russia bound アンサルド STS and SELEX communications and the contract about a signal, communication, electricity, preservation, the ticketing system together on delivery date of 3 years. I undertake アンサルド STS and the SELEX communications about the signal system about the route to from スルト to the border with Tunisia and セブハ [7].
The Sahara railway running through the mainland allied with Niger to the south is planned [the source required].
Vehicle
On June 10, 2007, I made contract that I trained the supply of the locomotive and driving and the maintenance to the Libyan person concerned with General Electric of the United States of America. Supply and the technological assistance of maintenance parts are included in this contract. The shipment for first Libya arrives at Libya at mid-2009.
