Kunimitsu Utagawa

The ukiyoe artist who is in the latter half of the Edo era with Kunimitsu Utagawa (unknown うたがわくにみつ, the straight year of a person's death).

Origin

A disciple of Toyokuni Utagawa. The common name is a bear storehouse. I claimed 一翁斎 and called myself Kunimitsu. I lived in Iigura earthenware vessel (かわらけ) town, Himonomachi, 2, Shibakuchi, Tadokorocho, Kawagishi, Yamashita-cho. I draw a picture of a kabuki actor, a painting of beauties as pride in the civil administration (from 1818 to 1830) period from Kyowa (from 1801 to 1804) for the drawing period. The signature and seal of "the Toyokuni cherry blossom disciple country image" is seen in a picture of a kabuki actor of (1804) in the culture first year, and masterpieces include collaboration "pommel horse Yamami Tachibana battle" (three pieces of large size sequel to) with the Toyokuni cherry blossom. Similarly I describe country が cloth of medium width and the right width in "choice Ushiwaka circle" (three pieces of large size sequel to) that is the collaboration with the Toyokuni cherry blossom, and a Toyokuni cherry blossom describes only the left width. In addition, the copperplate print with perspective "figures of in civil administration new publication copperplate print with perspective Shinkichi Hara cherry tree Morino" are works deserving attention from the 摺物 "actor seven Komachi" series and culture of the large size of the production (1810) for culture seven years when they represented the real face of the popular young actor.
