The first Jeff Beck group

The first Jeff Beck group was formed in London in early 1967, and Jeff Beck, a vocalist changed the drums with Lonny Wood, a base to rod Stewart, a rhythm guitar to a guitar regularly. As for the early bassist, Klem Caccini and Viv prince acted as jet Harris and デイヴ Ambrose, the drums. The lineup repeats a change for several months, and drums are decided in エインズレー Dunbar after all, and Ron Wood will be in charge of a base. I perform a domestic club tour in these members in 1967 and appear to a BBC radio several times. Beck contracted the personal management with Mickie Most, but モスト was not interested in the group and was unconcerned only about Beck as the solo artist.

The band released two pieces of singles in three pieces, the United States in Europe in 1967, and "high ホ-, the silver lining" got the 14th place with a singles chart of the U.K. A B-side was an instrumental music "Beck's bolero" and was an article recorded several months ago. As for the lineup of this session, drums, Nikky Hopkins were things called the pianos rhythm guitar, John Paul Jones Jimmy Page base, Keith moon [1]. In the band, frustration increased without being able to play blues music in accord with an idea of Beck enough, and Dunbar of drums took place on the secession, a certain stage, and Roy Cook was in charge of a drum. I recommend Mick Waller where Stewart was in charge of a drum in a former band, a steam packet afterwards. Waller was registered until the first half for 1968 through 69 and was in charge of a drum for the longest time in a band [2].

Manager at the time lord, Peter Grant had been on an American tour before with nu baud Deville band and were conscious of a form to let the new concert and FM music center broadcast AOR. It was possible now to put a band on sale without releasing "a hit single". Grant thought that a band of Beck was ideal for the American market and was going to buy a contract of Beck several times from モスト, but モスト refused this. The band fell into a crisis of the dissolution in early 1968, but Grant persuaded a member not to be dissolved somehow and prepared for short-term United States tour for them. Beck tells, "we exchanged only at least one time of clothes each literally." about this tour. The start of the tour performed four times of concerts as an opening act of the great full dead in Filmore East in New York. The concert was reached with a favorable reception, and Robert Shelton of the New York Times placed an article, "the Jeff Beck group received encouragement in a debut concert". "British pop singers delighted audience of Filmore East" and reported that the group of Beck and him exceeded great full dead. The review of the concert in the Boston tea party almost as same as New York no longer. Before "he begins the last music...By time when they whom there was in a tumultuous state finished a tour in Filmore East of San Francisco, Grant made a contract of an epic record and the new album for them so that a similar thing was not seen since the Beatles arrived at the town (as for the fan).

Beck, 1968 in the Jeff Beck group

The band went back to the U.K. promptly and recorded "toe Ruth". "Toe Ruth" records the 15th place in an American album chart. I recorded all songs in two weeks, and overdubbing was added in the next month. Mickie Most was busy with other projects, and Ken Scot was dispatched, and the repertory by their live at the time was recorded in those days in a studio. Because the output was excessive as for the amplifier of Beck, I was put in a closet, and recording was carried out. Drums, Nikky Hopkins participated in this session with a piano John Paul Jones Hammond organ, Keith moon. I came back to the United States for promotion of "toe Ruth", and the band started a tour. After their tour was finished, as for Jimi Hendrix who was the fan from old days of Jeff, cafe ホワ performs で jam session [3].

The band started the third tour in December, 1968, and Nikky Hopkins participated in this tour, too. Hopkins had a health problem, but decided participation for live hope that I wanted to play it. As for him, participation was provoked for more rewards from Led Zeppelin, but accepted an invitation of Beck. Later Hopkins "we lost one of the grand bands most lock history...I grieve with ". He participated in a tour for one's intention, but was shortened because of a disease in the latter half of the tour. And Beck postponed the fourth tour, tour of February, 1969 in the United States. This was caused by the fact that I did not have the new material which they should announce again with me. A new song was made, and Tony Newman joined it in place of Mick Waller and Ron Wood was discharged, but joined it again immediately. Because "toe Ruth" succeeded, Mickie Most caused new will, and the band recorded "Beck me" in デ lane Lee studio. Martin Birch participates in this album as an engineer. A single "prince" was released, and the band participated in three pieces of Donovan as backing. Two pieces of those were announced as single "バラバジャガ" [4].

The band started the fourth United States tour in May, 1969, and Nikky Hopkins participated as card-carrier fully this time. The tour advanced smoothly, and "Beck I was received favorably, too" and recorded the 15th place in the chart of the building boat. However, the scuffle uproar in the band is conveyed these days. Rod Stewart released the first album "Ann old raincoat want ever let you down" of oneself from Mercury record. I perform the fifth United States tour that became the last tour in July for the next 1,969 years for a short term. This tour is carried out in the East Coast and plays even Filmore East and the Newport Jazz Festival. Beck broke up a band on the day before Woodstock festival, but speaks regret for having dissolved the thing which was a festival participation plan later [3].

The second Jeff Beck group

Beck forms a group by the lineup called the Clive charr man to Cozy Powell, a base on max Middleton, a drum on Alex re-gath Wood, keyboard to a vocalist again in late 1970. In June, 1971, I make a contract with CBS and look for a new singer. Beck who saw the figure which Bob Tench sang with own band, gas with Lonny スコッツ jazz club of London let [5], him join the band own as the vocalist and a guitarist.

Several weeks were given Tench to add a vocalist to an album "rough and lady" with writing the new lyrics, and the mixing of the truck which Beck recorded with other members before was stopped. The album was completed in July, 1971, and they performed a tour in Finland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany. "The rough and lady" was released in the U.K. on October 25 [6] and was released in the United States in February, 1972. A promotional tour in the 16-day United States was carried out successively [7]. The work by the same author recorded the 46th place in an album chart after all.

The band left for the TMI studio of Tennessee Memphis in January, 1972 to join Beck. They record "Jeff Beck group" here [8]. A producer Steve Cropper [9]. "The Jeff Beck group" released it in the U.K. on June 9, 1972 followed by a promotional tour was carried out and appeared in "In Concert" of BBC Radio 1 on June 29 in the meantime. Bob Tench plays a guitar in "the demister knit Lee May B" that I played by this session [10], and this is a few examples that Tench played a guitar with Beck [11].

On July 24, 1972, the Jeff Beck group was dissolved formally, and the management of Beck announced the following statement. : "The fusion of the music-style of various members went well for an individual musician, but they did not feel it when it knew creation of the strong, new music-style that originally they found." [11]
