Isoflavone 7-O- methyl transferase (Isoflavone 7-O-methyltransferase, EC 2.1.1.150) is an enzyme catalyzing the following chemical reactions.
- S-adenosyl-L-methionine +7 - hydroxy isoflavoneS-adenosyl-L-homocysteine +7 - methoxyisoflavone
Therefore, as for the substrate of two of this enzyme, S-adenosyl-L-methionine and 7-hydroxy isoflavone, two products are S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine and 7-methoxy isoflavone.
This enzyme belongs to the family of the methyl transferase letting a transferase particularly 1 carbon group metastasize. The systematic name is S-adenosyl-L-methionine: It is hydroxy isoflavone 7-O- methyl transferase. This enzyme participates in biosynthesis of isoflavonoid.
