Cloth stretching-maru case

A Japan equipped with an arsenal to support an independent revolution in Philippines on July 21, 1899-registered cloth stretching circle is the case that sank by a rainstorm with a cloth stretching-maru case (ぬのびきまるじけん) off East China Sea Ningbo.

Summary

Malian Ano Ponce (en) dispatched in Japan by President Emilio Aguinaldo of Philippines received support of the Representative Toten Miyazaki and Yaroku Nakamura and purchased a cloth stretching circle to carry arsenal (used Murata rifle) and them for U.S. ratio war. The cloth stretching-maru left Nagasaki on July 19, 1899, but sank because of a rainstorm in the morning off East China Sea Ningbo on July 21 going on a voyage to the Philippines. The Japanese patriot rode with the cloth stretching-maru to participate in an independent revolution in Philippines, but 19 less than Captain Ishikawa nurse were sacrificed.

The United States which knew the plan of a cloth stretching-maru case and the revolution participation by the Japanese in Philippines protested Japan severely, and the monitoring by both Japan and the United States became severe afterwards. The weapon purchase, the transportation plan from Japan came to a deadlock partly because the fund by the Philippine independent group dried up in addition to this. He/she purchased it by Ponce, and I got consent of Ponce and was to be misappropriated as military power of the Huizhou case of him and the Sun Yat-sen whom there was of the friendship, but what it was in a step of the transportation, and Yaroku Nakamura already sold it off without permission and I embezzled became clear, and, as for the firearms of the rest which was unexploited in the warehouse of the Class Okura without being transported by the Philippines, it was a big scandal afterwards (Nakamura insists that it is a false accusation).

This case became the factor, and, in Miyazaki, naniwa-bushi reciting entered it [¹].
