History
It is considered to be the mid-15th century that a European arrived at the Gambian riverside bank first [2]. It was Portuguese, and then they built a Christian church in アルブレダ soon [3]. However, they did not settle constantly.
It was French to have planned that I assumed アルブレダ a constant base, but it was in the late 17th century, and it was after. They built the trade base in アルブレダ in 1681. The French Senegalese company got permission to build the base in the Gambian Kawakita bank two years ago from King of ニウミ (one of the countries which there was under power in Gambian Kawakita bank), and アルブレダ was built based on it [4].
There was it in the opposite side of James Island (existing クンタ キンテ island) that just became the main trade base of the U.K., and Britain and France competed for both アルブレダ and James Island over possession time and time again [5], and, in アルブレダ, the rebuilding and the abandonment were repeated [5]; [6]. However, the environment was considerably severe and was local stayers, and both アルブレダ and James Island considered supply of the fresh water and invited you to the banquet, and relations friendly enough were built [6].
It was decided that アルブレダ belonged to France by the Paris Convention of 1814 formally. After that I occupied as the only base that France had in the Gambian riverside bank and the position that was important to the Gambia abandonment area as the base that could bring in an inexpensive product without a duty being hung until it was done cession in exchange for a trade base of Mauritania in 1857 by the U.K. [7] [8].
After it was done cession by the U.K., the French did not completely withdraw either, and France West Africa company purchased the building which was in アルブレダ in 1902 and was as a store [9]. I lost this building who originally built it for what, but seemed to have already at least existed in 1847 in the French possession times [3].
In addition, world heritage constitution assets "firm (existing slave trade Museum) included in the neighboring ジュフレ village of モーレル brothers" is next to the rice-producing district of アルブレダ, too [10].
Current アルブレダ is the bank of a river, and rice growing is carried out, and Gambian main farm products and the cultivation of the peanut that it is are performed in the inland up to the present since the colony times [3]. Because it faces the bank of a river, there is a pier, and it is in the anchorage of the tourist going to the クンタ キンテ island [11]. In addition, near the Portuguese chapel trace, there are a fish market and the fishmonger, too [10]. Religion facilities include two mosques [10].
