A jumping over earthquake to assume (Ansei February 26, 5), the Atotsugawa dislocation of Ecchu, the Hida border (current Toyama, Gifu prefectural border) cause on April 9, 1858 was generated. The scale of the earthquake is estimated to be magnitude 7.0-7.1.

The black kite heap of Tateyama mountain ranges caused mountain body collapse by an earthquake. There were two peaks of the vast black kite mountain and small black kite mountain on the black kite mountain, but the large black kite mountain and small black kite mountain completely became extinct by mountain body collapse, and a large quantity of earth and sand flowed into the Tateyama caldera. A hot spring visitor and an employee were rolled up in a mud flood in Tateyama Onsen in the caldera and died.

River channel obstruction occurred in the Jouganji River, the Jinzu River, the Kurobe River. The river channel confinement of the Jouganji River in particular collapsed by the aftershocks of the jumping over earthquake and caused big damage downstream.

The quantity of collapse earth and sand is estimated to be 410,000,000m3 with a gross quantity [1], and Japan is the largest since history on record in the thing becoming clear as heap of seismicities body collapse.

Earth and sand disaster often occurs by the outflow of the earth and sand, and erosion control construction is carried out in the Tateyama caldera now afterwards. The quantity of the earth and sand remaining in in a caldera is approximately 200,000,000m3 as of the early 21st century, and this is quantity as Toyama plains are covered with the earth and sand of thickness 2m if I flowed all out.
