Shinonome (しののめ) a destroyer [¹] of the Japanese Navy [²]. The sixth warship [³] of 特型 (first-class destroyer snowstorm type). The original name of a warship a 40th destroyer [¹]. One ship [⁴] of the classification of clouds (spider class). For vessels of the Japanese Navy with this name is the second ship following Shinonome model destroyer "Shinonome".

Warship career

Is Uraga dock (1926) on June 25 1926; on a destroyer of the building on "33rd destroyer" (Mochizuki) [⁵], the destroyer of the Maizuru arsenal "a 35th destroyer" (snowstorm) on the destroyer of the Sasebo naval shipyard the name of a warship of "the 40th destroyer" (Shinonome) 与 えらる [⁶]. "A 33rd destroyer, a 35th destroyer, the 40th destroyer" classify it into a first-class destroyer in 同日附 [⁷]. On August 12, "the 40th destroyer" (Shinonome) starts work in Sasebo arsenal [⁸]. I am launched (1927) on November 26 in 1927 and am completed as "a 40th destroyer" (1928) on July 25 in 1928 [⁸]. "The 40th destroyer" is changed the name from to "Shinonome" in 日附 on August 1, the same year [¹]. After the completion, I am admitted into the twelfth expulsion corps of four classification of clouds (cluster of clouds, Shinonome, feathery stratus, white cloud). On December 1, the same year, in the expulsion corps, it was admitted into the second mine squadron the second fleet. (1931), "Shinonome" were struck from the register in 1931 by the twelfth expulsion corps, and organization did the 20th expulsion corps with three snowstorm types of "Shinonome, a snowstorm, the surf" newly.

The 20th expulsion corps was struck from the register (1936) 1936 by a year-end organization change, and, as for "the snowstorm," in "Shinonome," "the surf" was admitted into the 19th expulsion corps each the twelfth expulsion corps the eleventh expulsion corps [⁹].

In the twelfth expulsion corps, organization did carrier "龍驤" and "蒼龍" and the second aviation squadron (1938) until November in the next year from November in 1938. I participated in coast strategy in the sinter south, northern part Buddha mark stationing operation on the occasion of Japan-China War after (1940) in 1940. In May of the year, "a feathery stratus" performs most moving passage thunder, and it is removed from a register by the twelfth expulsion corps.

Sinking

I left the fleet to go to east Seria, and, on December 15, "Shinonome" took an independent action out of the millimeters offing. The action of afterward is unknown, and there is an opinion [¹²] which touches opinion [¹⁰] which assumes a loss cause of "Shinonome" that sank on December 17 sinking by the bombing of the enemy plane [¹¹] and the laid underwater mine, and sank instantly. Telegraphic communication of unknown sender is received during "a flying boat and war" at about 9:00 a.m. for 17 days [¹³] and reports it when the GVT-2 position flying boat of the Netherlands military bombs a destroyer and gave you three dead shots and near hit one [¹⁴]. It was witnessed that a column of water stood near the Barham Lighthouse who was from the Japanese landing fleet to about the midday Seria, and it was in the afternoon, and "a cluster of clouds" of the sister ship searched neighborhood sea area, and discovered a barrel and the heavy oil which flowed out at a point of north 15 kilos of the Barham Lighthouse [¹³]; [¹⁵]. All 228 crews lower than the captain were killed in action [¹¹]. Except "Miyuki who sank in an accident in prewar days," it became the first death in battle warship by a snowstorm type destroyer.

The removal from a register of "Shinonome, thin gaze, the second lunar month, a gale" and a submarine, the minesweeper decides the destroyer which I lost (1942) by the end of last year on January 15 in 1942. "Shinonome" was struck from the register by snowstorm type destroyer [¹⁶], the twelfth expulsion corps [¹⁷], each of the empire expulsion Navy list [¹⁸]. The twelfth expulsion corps that lost "Shinonome" on March 10, and became "white cloud, two organization of the cluster of clouds" a disbandment [¹⁹]. As for "the white cloud," "the cluster of clouds" was incorporated into the eleventh expulsion corps (snowstorm, snow, the first snow of the year) in the 20th expulsion corps (morning fog, sky fog, evening fog) [¹⁹].
