Ryoichi Tobe (とべりょういち, 1948 -) is a Japanese historian. The specialty is the Japanese political diplomatic history. A professor at Teikyo University department of literature history department, an international Japanese culture research center honorary professor, professor emeritus at Defense Academy. I study diplomacy of the prewar days, wartime period of the Showa era in Japan particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reformists and Japan-China relations, the Japanese army. In addition, an interdisciplinary study of Nomonhan incident, the Pacific War that combined an organization theory with a history study is known as one of the authors of "the essence of the failure". I had studied under Masamichi Inoki, but received instruction of Masataka Kosaka after Inoki was transferred to the Defense Academy.
