Grant county (British: Grant County) is a county located in the central part of United States of America Indiana. It was 70,061 people, and the population in the 2010 national census decreased from 73,403 people of 2000 by 4.6% [1]. County seat is a city of the population maximum in the county that is Marion city (a population of 29,948 people [2]). Discovery of the important paleontology to be considered to be a thing of the Pliocene was the pipe creek sink hall in the county

History

The Grant county was established in 1831. The county name was named Samuel Grant from Kentucky for both Moses Grant captains.

In late years the mean temperature of Marion City that is county seat changes from 16 degrees Fahrenheit (-9 degrees Celsius) of January to 85 degrees Fahrenheit (29 degrees Celsius) of July. The record-high temperature that is -23 degrees Fahrenheit that the past minimum temperature was recorded in January, 1985 (-31 degrees Celsius) is 108 degrees Fahrenheit recorded in July, 1936 (42 degrees Celsius). The county government is the form of government by the constitution, and special power is accepted by Indiana constitution and Indiana code.

郡政委員会

郡政委員会 is the legislature of the county government and manages annual expenditure and the annual revenue of the county. The committee is picked from the electoral district in the county, and the term of office is four years. I take responsibility for setting a salary, an annual budget, appropriation. There is authority with the limitation to impose income tax and asset tax, a consumption tax, a service tax at a county level, but income tax and the assets tax need the approval of the state [5]; [6].

Administrative committee

The administrative committee is an executive branch of the county government. In the committee, the whole county is elected by the electoral district, and half is re-elected every two years in four years in the term of office. One of the committees, people with the experience usually become the chairperson most. The administrative committee carries out the law that 郡政委員会 decided, and collect taxes, and manage the daily function of the county government; is responsible [5]; [6].

County court

The county maintains the small scale court which can handle some civil actions. The judge is picked in the term of office for four years and must be a member of association of Indiana trial lawyer. It is a law executive officer called Constable to assist a judge and after all is picked in the term of office for four years. For the judgment in the specific case, I can appeal against the circuit court of the state level [6].

Other than the above, a peace officer, a crowner, a controller, a finance secretary, a registration official, a surveyor and a circuit court administrative official are chosen in election. I supervise a section varying in the county government for four years in the term of office. It must be the resident of the county request and others again that the government official chosen as the county government publicizes a support political party [6].

The Grant county belongs to the United States of America member of the House of Representatives Indiana fifth electoral district [7]. I belong to the 17th, the 19th and the 20th electoral district in the Indiana state legislature Upper House [8] and belong to the 31st, the 32nd and the 82nd electoral district in the Lower House [9].
