Cell fusion
Cell fusion (cell fusion) is a phenomenon that cells more than two fuse and become one mongrel cell.

Summary
Cell fusion is the phenomenon that one mongrel cell is formed from cells more than two [1]; [2]. Similar cells are easy to fuse well, but the heterologous cell fusion is caused, too.
The cell fusion is the differentiation of muscle, a bone and the nourishment film cell, embryo outbreak and an important cell process happening during a morphogenetic period [3]. This is essential in the growth of the living body to maintain the function of the cell [4]. In addition, I am observed in a generative cell and dissolution viral infection at the time of the fertilization well. I include the cell fusion for form change, vacuole formation and 合胞体形成 in this.
The cell fusion phenomenon was discovered in 1957 by Yoshio Okada. I found that Sendai virus (HVJ) was able to let a cell fuse then. To date artificial cell fusion is enabled and is used for selective breeding or production of monoclonal antibody. Not only I go through a virus, but also cell fusion is caused by the protoplast - PEG method and the electrical stimulation and can make an objective cell.
Applied to diabetes treatment
On May 29, 2013, corner Shoichiro and others of Kyoto University reproduction Institute of Medical Science announced, "I succeeded in the stem cell which picked up the cell of islets of Langerhans which secreted insulin in pancreas from marrow and animal experiment to let you let you fuse and work effectively in vivo for the first time in the world". I let the group of 角昭 and others set a pancreatic islet cell beside a stem cell derived from the marrow of the thighbone superior in ability such as the cell proliferation and gave you electrical stimulation and fuse and transplanted it to the rat which could not secrete insulin. As a result, it is said that it is thought that a fusion cell multiplied it in vivo because I only transplanted a fusion cell of half quantity of the normal pancreatic islet transplant [5], and it is confirmed that the effect that blood sugar level decreases appears, and blood sugar level gradually decreased after transplant for three months. 角昭 tells, "it may lead to new technique to make a fusion cell from pancreatic islet, and to port it" [6].

- When pancreas transplant is done with the most effective cure to a diabetic having heavy ^, and the pancreas of the provider is not suitable for transplant, I isolate pancreatic islet to be dotted with in pancreas, and there is a method to transplant it by intravenous feeding. However, the pancreatic islet which can separate from one pancreas may do not reach for patient alone with a small quantity. In addition, an effect does not last after transplant, and there are many patients whom pancreatic islet transplant is necessary for again.
