Kamioka Mine
Kamioka Mine (it is Mio or asks) is Hida-shi, Gifu (former Kamiokacho, Yoshiki-gun) Mt. zinc, lead, silver ore which I looked good with. I canceled the digging of the ore in June, 2001.

Summary
Digging began in (about 720) in the Yoro year in the Nara era, and Mitsui group acquired the right of management in (1874) in 1874 and took in the nation's first truck reply mining method by the modernization and continued mining it on a large scale. I reached 75 million tons, and the quantity of total digging from Class Mitsui management to closing a mountain prospered in approximately 130 years at one time as a mine of Yoichi Azuma.
In the スカルン deposit where heated water of the igneous rock origin changed crystalline limestone included in the Hida gneiss, there are horse chestnut sinus well (とちぼらこう), 茂住坑 (I look at the shrike and grow on), Maruyama well (a circle let's wind it up) as a main deposit. I call the ore with the スカルン mineral mainly on the hedenbergite 杢地鉱 (let's sprain it) and call an ore with quartz and the calcite 白地鉱 (しろじこう).
The mine ruins become the ruins, but Kamioka mining industry Co., Ltd. of the 100% investment subsidiary of MITSUI MINING & SMELTING Co., Ltd. is built in a part and runs mineral recycling.
In 2007, I was chosen by 100 selections of geological features of Japan.
Itai-itai disease
It is the large-scale pollution that occurred in Toyama Jinzu River basin caused by cadmium included in the sphalerite which is the main mineral of the zinc ore of Kamioka Mine. The damage that most greatly occurred by this pollution only poured futon and breaks it and is "(have a pain have a pain) having a pain having a pain" and a pollution-related illness called crying "itai-itai disease". I brought an action against MITSUI MINING & SMELTING Co., Ltd. where a patient operated Kamioka Mine in a group, and a patient plaintiff won the case in Toyama District Court in 1971 and won the case in the Nagoya High Court Kanazawa Branch. In four major pollution-related illness trials of Japan, I had a big influence on the later pollution-related illness trial by the first plaintiff winning the case judgment.
Use of ruins
Super-Kamiokande
Super-Kamiokande is neutrino observation equipment of Inst. for Cosmic Ray Res., Univ. of Tokyo built by 神岡鉱山茂住坑. The reason why the access of the traffic was bad, and remote Kamioka Mine was chosen from other research organizations as a setting place of the world's most advanced research facility,
- A geological feature consisting of the solid Hida gneiss which had high bedrock strength having been suitable for the making of the huge underground necessary for observation equipment
- Being able to use pit spring abundantly when I supply pure water to use in observation
- Pit temperature maintaining the same with 13-14 degrees Celsius a year, and environmental maintenance necessary for observation being easy
But, I am cited.
The present Emperor, the empress observes it in July, 2004. With the Kamiokande which is a forerunner of the Super-Kamiokande, I accessed it using a truck from 茂住坑口, but come and go by a car or a truck with the Super-Kamiokande from the Atotsu bank.
Datacenter
The mobility Co., Ltd. made a contract of the monopolistic management company about "the Kamioka Mine underground use" with the Kamioka mining industry of the MITSUI MINING & SMELTING Co., Ltd. wholly-owned subsidiary in June, 2001 and proposed datacenter business in the mine underground (on Nihon Keizai Shimbun December 31, 2001 January 4, 2002). An article, "Sun Microsystems and Internet initiative (IIJ), 12 companies, the group including BearingPoint announced the project "bottom of the earth space trass Ted Eco datacenter project" to build the datacenter that was secure, and was low power consumption in the underground and aimed at the service start in April, 2010." was placed in the November 14, 2007 Nihon Keizai Shimbun such as one afterwards. It was not pinpointed the place at this point in time, but, by a remark of Mayor in front of Funasaka Hida in the local paper, has been identified with this mine ruins. Though the metal mine ruins have a necessary factor as solid bedrock, temperature approximately 14 degrees Celsius, datacenter including the abundant groundwater, it is not yet inflected.
Development and decline of Kozanchou
By digging of Kamioka Mine and refinement processing, Kamiokacho as Kozanchou shared the prosperity and the decline. A townsman swelled than 27,000 people for the late 1950s and early 1960s that is the mine golden age, but transference continues with the rationalization of the mine and digging cancellation and decreases to approximately 11,000 now. By the way, the Kamioka castle in Kamiokacho was built as memory of the 100th anniversary of the MITSUI MINING & SMELTING Co., Ltd. Kamioka mining industry place establishment of a business in 1970, and facilities, an ore of Kamioka Mine displays it now and is introduced. Each place of the town is dotted with a mine worker house and an assembly room, public bathhouses and attracts mine enthusiast and ruins enthusiast.
