名古屋市営振甫 pool

名古屋市営振甫 pool (なごやしえいしんぽ pool) is the pool facility which ever existed in Chikusa-ku, Nagoya-shi, Aichi.
Summary
In 1933, it was completed as the first full-scale pool in Nagoya-shi. I kept night game facilities in the pool of the 50mx9 course for the swimming race and a pool for exclusive use of the diving, the stands which could accommodate approximately 10,000 audiences more. Many spectators flock at the time of the swim meet holding, and it is said that a lot of stalls opened a store.
Hideko Maehata of the Sugiyama girls' school student set a world record of the women's 200 meters breast stroke in those days in this pool on September 30, 1933 just after the pool completion, and 古橋廣之進 developed an exciting game after the war in this ground.
In addition, other than a swim meet, the concert on the pretence of "water music festival" has been held, too. On July 31, 1956, the concert titled "an evening of the water Vienna music" is held under the conduct of the Eduard Strauss second who visited Japan as "the second Asahi Breweries concert".
Large-scale repair work was carried out in 1974 and was changed to a 25m pool and the pool for the infant. After that the swim meet was not held and has been used mainly as a place of recreation and relaxation for neighborhood inhabitants.
I am to the pool abolition
The Nagoya-shi Board of Education managing the 振甫 pool announces the abolition by the reason of the deterioration of the pool and a decrease in attendance (increase of the always available warm water pool) and fiscal efficiency in 2008. I decided facilities closedown formally in February, 2009, the following day though the neighborhood inhabitants who objected to this developed a preservation campaign and submitted the signature for 12,000 to the city, and I demolished it in August, and construction was performed. 1,000 kinds of Nagoya-shi top and bottom water department Office is transferred in March, 2012 by this ground.
I erect it in the parking lot of the Chikusa life study center where the monument of "the swimming feeling best way" by the calligraphy of Furuhashi who ever played an active part in this pool is next to in March, 2010 (Furuhashi whom I gave this book in June, 2009 dies in Rome on August 2, the same year).
