Motomachi-Chukagai Station (I wait for the cause ちゅうかがいえき) is a Yokohama rapid transit railway Minatomirai Line station in Yamashitacho, Naka-ku, Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa. I practiced medicine with the opening to traffic of Minatomirai Line on February 1, 2004. The station number is MM06.

Origin of the station name
The tentative name at the plan stage was "Motomachi Station" that took the place name near the station location. However, I requested it to add "a Chinatown" than a person concerned with Yokohama Chinatown, and to do it at "Motomachi Chinatown Station", but a person concerned with Motomachi mall objected for this saying "do not do it with a Chinatown", and it was a debate on the Motomachi mall side and the Yokohama Chinatown side under the surface of the water. The station name would write both names in parallel at the top using "・" between Motomachi and a Chinatown, and the well- known "Yamashita park" as the sightseeing spot increased as a vice-name more after all.
Future planned
- There is the plan that Minatomirai Line extends in Negishi Station, the Isogo Station area through Honmoku from our station, but is frozen up now.
- There is the plan that Yokohama municipal subway Green Line rides onto our station from Negishi Station through Futamatagawa Station and Kami-Ooka Station from Nakayama Station, but this is going to go along Minatomirai Line and the about the same route.
