An emperor temple (たいそうじ) is a temple of the Jodo sect of Buddhism at 2, Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo. As for the mountain, haze Sekiyama, an another name of the nobleman who erected a temple are 本覚院. The man himself is Amitabha.

History
According to the temple biography, the thatched hut which a Buddhist priest, an emperor opened (1596) in in the Keicho era first year, "an emperor hermitage" are forerunners. A relationship with Naito deepened with having performed a funeral service of Masakatsu Naito who was (1629), Mt. Awa Kunikatsu feudal lord for Kanei era six years, and I received oblation of Terachi, and an emperor temple was founded as a founder in emperors in (1668) for Kanbun eight years by eldest son Shigeyori of Masakatsu. The another name of the nobleman who erected a temple sees a Buddhist name of Masakatsu. As for (1691), Naito, it was done 移封 for Genroku era four years to the Shinano country lofty feudal clan, but an each generation feudal lord and a family vault place were put in the emperor temple afterwards as a family temple of lofty feudal clan Naito. The graveyard of Naito was the immensity of approximately 300 tsubos, but was reduced by land readjustment carried out from (1952) in 1952. Three gravestones including present head of a household Masakatsu exist for the fifth generation.
The precincts north side breeds in water, and there was a pond once, but the precincts north side is transferred to Shinjuku-ku (1950) as a city planning park in March in 1950, and it is in Shinjuku Ward Shinjuku park. When it became the park, the pond was filled up, but water springs out of the pond trace afterwards, and waterscape facilities are made.
There is the third of the guardian deity of children image (Edo Rokujizo) enshrined at the entrance of six highways which are in Edo in the precincts each. In addition, 閻魔像, 奪衣婆像 was enshrined in this temple, and it has been believed from the Edo era by the common people. I am opened every year now on July 15 by the fair of .16 days.
Characterized by the figure which put on salt in one Hotei sacred image, pure white of 7, Yamanote, Shinjuku Fukugami elsewhere there are "guardian deities of children for salt".
