Yabacho (Nagoya-shi)

Yabacho (やばちょう) is the place name of Naka-ku, Nagoya-shi, Aichi. The pronunciation gives off "ba" highly, and "the butterfly" falls down [1]. I simplify it more and say "a shooting gallery". The name of Yabacho is the historic place name retroactively to the Edo era, but does not exist by postwar land readjustment. But I stay as the intersection names and am commonly called as the local name widely.

Geography
The former Yabacho level belonged to 3 from 4, 1, Sakae from current 1, Osu [2]. Was one town of the castle town which followed from Nagoya-jo Castle, and was old, and 町丁 such as south Ozu-machi existed to Miwamachi, the north to Suehirocho, the south to south Kajiyacho, the west to the east [2]; [3].

History

The name of Yabacho comes from that bow and arrow ground was made in the three-wheeled Shinto shrine existing in (Kanbun eight years), an area in 1669. Because here was located the west of the bow and arrow ground, came to be called Yabacho [2]; [4]. It was each in Machiya, and the income from a manor of the Wakamiya Yawata back opened town area Mannenji and income from a manor of 永昌院 the income from a manor of the Masahide temple for (Kanen four years) in 1751 for (Genroku era eight years) in 1695 for (Enpo era six years) in 1678 [4]. A shooting gallery was in Higashi-ku, but because this place name existed earlier, call it with "an east shooting gallery" and it is in east Yabacho and reaches it at the present [4].
History

- 1945 (1945) ： By Naka-ku reemployment of Sakae-ku, I come back to Yabacho, Naka-ku.
- 1966 (1966) ： It is admitted into Sakae by land readjustment. It becomes 3 from 1, Sakae-cho, and the name of Yabacho disappears from the map top.
- 1969 (1969) ： Wakamiya Odori and to the south of the former Yabacho area is incorporated into Osu by land readjustment and becomes 4 from 1, Osu.
Culture
Toru Otsu is the downtown where going continues from Sakae, and commercial facilities such as Matsuzakaya Head Office or the Nagoya Parco stand. The branches of the commercial facilities with the brand power occurred successively after the nadir park establishment of 1996 more, and the Nagoya first to go out shop such as Apple Store, the freshness burger was Yabacho neighborhood, too [5]; [6].

- Because (astronomy 22 years), Nobunaga Oda condoled with vassal Masahide Hirate in 1553, I founded it to small Makiyama and moved to here for (Keicho era 17 years) in 1612.
