Geography

It is located in the southern part of Kanagawa-ku, Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa. It is next with Shirahataminamicho in Shirahatanishicho, northwest in Torigoe, one point on the northwest road in Tomiyacho, the west in Higashikanagawa, southwest in Kamezumicho, the south in Urashimaoka, one point on the southeastern track from the north to the east. It is the city area equal to JR Tokaido Main Line and the north side of National highway No. 1 (second Keihin).

History

Character Tachimachi was established in Kanagawa, Kanagawa-ku-cho, Yokohama-shi in 1927 by (1927), admission to Yokohama-shi of the Kanagawa-cho. Tachimachi was founded (1932) as a town on January 1 1932 by a part of Kanagawa-cho character Tachimachi and Inaricho [1]; [3]. I separated (1978), a part in 1978, and the part was incorporated into Tomiyacho, Torigoe each [1].

Origin of the place name

The name of a street is adopted by a character name, and "the length" is thought about with the meaning of "the edge of hill facing the low land" [3].

JR East Tokaido Main Line goes along the south side, but the station is not established. The nearest station becomes JR Higashi-Kanagawa Station, Tokyu Toyoko Line Higashi-Hakuraku Station or Keihin Electric Express Main Line Kanagawa-Shimmachi Station.

National highway No. 1 (second Keihin) diverges to the Yokohama-shi center area and Mitsuzawakamimachi intersection, Hodogaya bypass, the Yokohama new road area at Tachimachi intersection through town area south side.
