Origin, person

I enter Ryukoku Junior High School and I take an entrance examination for the military preparatory school at the end of a first grader, but I fail it by hemorrhoids and enter the Kurume commercial school again [1]. I act as the captain, an ace at the age of the fifth grader of the senior and go to the last eight in the Fukuoka qualifier of summer Koshien [2].

At the time of the graduation, I receive invitation by the pro-ball each from Hankyu and セネタース from Waseda University and Rikkyo University at the university, but enter the Fushun coal mine of Manchurian where a senior was of the Kurume commerce [2]. I play the 14th Intercity Baseball Tournament meet of 1940 as a pitcher of the iron club. I break a new capital electric call having Yukio Nishimura of former Osaka Tigers in the qualifier and it is representative Manchurian [3] and attracts attention because meeting 2 is winning consecutively by this war and broke Fujikura Ltd. which was a favorite with one round [4] and joins the south seas as a pitcher in the middle of a season in the same year. I was registered at the Nippon University night school.

I played an active part in 41 games as an ace pitcher next to Takeo Kanda in 15 wins and the south seas though I pitched for 46 games in 1941 and retired it on the middle because of appendicitis on the way in a season in a season in 12 wins, 1942 [5] and participated in the east and west in 1941 vs. resistance as a pitcher of the west forces. This time is the active play time of Kawasaki, and, at the time when there was speed of a pitched ball most, I am praised by Sotaro Suzuki if fast most in the baseball world [5]. I mustered in 1942 and greeted the end of the war in Mandalay, Burma and sent the custody life in the concentration camp after the war [6].

We have the invitation of Haruyasu Nakajima of the supervision in October, 1946, too and join Yomiuri Giants and return to the professional baseball world [7]. The same year was a pitch only for one game, but gives to Hiroshi Oshita of セネタース a home run of the 20th in 1 season of the professional baseball new record [8]. The sharpness of the shot increases from 1947 by having changed the pitching form from the overhand throw to the three-quarters, and it is a sinker falling ball having a slight it and all kills a batter for infield grounder and raises victory head of the team and 24 wins that it is. I recorded 27 wins, pitcher's earned run average 2.31 (the league seventh place) in 1948 and shared a title of the most victory with Hiroshi Nakao of the co-worker. By the game with Chunichi Dragons of May 29, 1948 (Ujiyamada Stadium), a relief pitched in the scene of the nine times no outs first base of one point of lead, but the first ball is performed a reversal good-bye home run of by Satoru Sugiyama who is the first batter, and it is to first "one pitch of losing pitcher" in a professional baseball history.

I gave 19 wins next to Hideo Fujimoto (24 wins) in 1949 and contributed to after the war first championship of the giant. I put pitching the whole game victory with four hits nine runs batted in that oneself included 3 home runs in while doing 13 losses by 8 cover home runs by the Daiei Motion Picture Stars round performed in Kanazawa Kenroku-en Garden Stadium on April 26, the same year. 3 home runs that I recorded in this game are the first time in history as a pitcher. Besides, Kawasaki has hit no home run until this game. Nine runs batted in were professional baseball new records at the time, and Kawasaki would regain a point taken by oneself with own bat. Loss 13 of the pitching the whole game winning pitcher, cover home run eight of one game are the Japanese records that are yet broken neither. In addition, San Francisco Shields visits Japan in evening of the same year, and the after the war first Japan-U.S. baseball was performed, but pitches as the forerunner of the giant while General Crown Prince Akihito Imperial prince and MacArthur wife and others watch a game for the first war. However, a tooth did not stand in the team of the minor league either and has left the throw of Kawasaki without getting 1 death [9].

It is asked Nishitetsu Clippers (Nishitetsu Lions in the back) founded by native district Fukuoka and transfers with 2 leagues division for 1,950 years. This transfer changed peacefully, and Nishitetsu gave the thanks advertisement to the giant about the transfer of the ace to a national newspaper [4]. However, after casting a shot by the first pitch of March 20 without being able to train in conjunction with a transfer enough in the off-season, I hurt an elbow. Because a shot was not given up as expected by the trouble of the elbow, time not to be torn in the wall of 13 wins and 15 wins in 1950 12 wins a year, 1951 12 wins a year, 1952 continues. However, I acted as the captain after Nishitetsu transfer and suggested supervision invitation of Osamu Mihara in 1951, and Kawasaki acted as the part of messenger to Mihara [10].

An elbow recovered in 1953 and I mastered a knuckle ball newly and blockaded a batter with a difference of the lenience and severity [11] and I acquired most victory and 2 crowns of the top flight pitcher's earned run average in 24 wins 15 defeats, pitcher's earned run average 1.98 and was chosen as a top flight pitcher. I suffer from transient infiltration of the lungs in 1954 and remain in ten wins, but decorate the no base on balls complete blockade victory with the Japan Series of the same year in the Japan Series first forerunner [11]. I gave 17 wins in 1955 and achieved two columns of consecutive victory for six years.

It decreases at a pitch opportunity of Kawasaki and is over for two wins while Osamu Mihara of the supervision comes to appoint pitcher young person positively when it is 1956, and three pitchers aged around 20 years of Yukio Shimabara, Kazuhisa Inao, Sadaaki Nishimura record 20 wins. I retire in 1957.

I acted as a pitcher coach and an assistant director after a retirement and supported the Nishitetsu golden age of Manager Osamu Mihara Era. The room acted as supervision of Nishitetsu for 1960 through 2 after the Mihara dismissal from an organization and protected A class two years in a row, but people of trouble had appeared one after another in Futoshi Nakanishi as the beginning and were not able to win the championship [12]. The criticism to art of team grasp of Kawasaki was combined, too, and the Nishitetsu head office was dismissed, and Nakanishi took office as director successor in player additional posts [13]. I entered the front desk from 1962 and wielded 辣腕 as Managing Director at baseball team. A pitcher troop coach of Hanshin Tigers is said in 1967 that I made a model of the pitching of Yutaka Enatsu who was a rookie pitcher at the time of duty.

I run the Hakata noodle shop afterwards in Yaesu underground shopping center of Tokyo Station. I ran the cafe in Tosu-shi of the home town from 1979.

I die because of cholangiocarcinoma in a hospital in Kurume-shi, Fukuoka on April 25, 2006. Age at death 86 (84 years old death).

Characteristic as the player

A tempo of the pitching was fast and was good at a fireball and a shot, and there was the knuckle ball as a durability ball, too [4].
