Tokubei Kuroda (くろだとくべい, from October 17, 1886 to May 15, 1987) is a Japanese natural historian, conchologist.

Career

I am from 兵庫県三原郡福良浦 (existing: Mukoya, Fukura, Minami-Awaji-shi). The educational background is only elementary school graduation and studies the shellfish while doing apprenticeship, and achievements are recognized, and it is Mr. Kyoto empire University in 1921. I am concerned with the foundation of the Japanese shellfish society in 1928 and become のち chairperson. I clarified distribution and a kind of the shellfish from Japan and published "日本産海棲貝類目録". I become GHQ Supreme Headquarters technical advisor in 1946 and receive a doctorate from Kyoto empire University in 1947. "Distribution of land shellfishs from Japan study on classification."

I became a researcher at Kyoto University from 1952.

The first person of the Japanese shellfish study. Complete the first shellfish complete catalog in Japan and is one of the founders of the Japanese shellfish society. The new kind of the shellfish which I discovered amounts to 600 kinds.
