The town where Mendamachi (めんだまち) was ever in Kuma-gun, Kumamoto.

I founded it and, on April 1, 2003, merged with Uemura, Mendamachi, Okaharumura, Sue-mura, Fukadamura in the county and became Asagiri-cho. It becomes the Asagiri-cho tax-free farmland district now.
