Summary

The web page of the problem was placed on the web space of internetwork Kyoto (Kyoto I-Net Corporation) that was an Internet provider run as third sectors of Kyoto-shi by Kyoto high technology research institutes [^{note 1}]. The man considered to be a gangster gave office worker in April, 1996 and enrolled in the provider and established the web page entitled "a chivalrous spirit way" in January, 1997 [¹]. The contents of the site were the things "which the label with the gang was put on by the violence that the yakuza was full of prejudice vs. law" which "the writer is a yakuza" [¹].

On January 14, a visiting Kyoto prefectural police reporter of the Asahi Shimbun performed an inquiry with "what is the real intention to accept what was used as the place that the person who announced that the provider which received public support was a yakuza by oneself developed stock argument, and criticized the violence vs. law?" for I-Net Corporation [³]. In response to this inquiry [³], I-Net Corporation talked about a countermeasure with the Kyoto prefectural police and requested a man for the deletion of the page on 17th, and the man deleted the page on the next day [¹].

"I called for deletion, and, on January 22, I-Net Corporation which "a gang was "chivalrous spirit way" Kyoto on the Internet, and noticed the existence of the page of the man titled a page establishment cancellation request", and was at a loss placed the article of contents, the site was deleted voluntarily in consultation, the man in the prefectural police" the Asahi Shimbun [²].

Reaction after the case detection

The man established a web page in the same way on the web space of I-Net Corporation in February of the year and oneself was a yakuza, but placed progress and the letter of the case of public question to the Asahi Shimbun after having announced that it was not a gangster. A letter of this public question does not have the answer with the Asahi Shimbun at at 1997 [⁴]; [^{note 2}].

Manabu Miyazaki of the commentator was a website "person of oneself of breakthrough" and criticized it about this case saying that page deletion was make-believe of the Asahi Shimbun. Miyazaki tried coverage for the Asahi Shimbun and placed comment, "the fact that a reporter demanded deletion from did not have" which "it is not make-believe" on the Asahi Shimbun side in the site [⁵]. Miyazaki speaks with "case [⁷] that a limit of the media which there is just, a place such as the corruption appeared most" "there is a wrong person for the person who can speak though it should be free to do that a person gives an opinion on the Internet" [⁶].

Kawakami Ichiro says that the information of the Asahi Shimbun is mediative profiteering equal to a coral case [⁵].

The news of the ^ Asahi Shimbun assumes the place of the page "the Internet that a third sector runs" and a description [¹] and it is uncertain, but does whether you existed on the network of I-Net Corporation in the company whether a site existed on the Internet when Kawakami (1998) was shown on the Internet [²].
