Akabane bypass (dirt spring bypass) is a bypass road of National highway No. 340 that reaches from Sumita-cho, Kesen-gun, Iwate Tono-shi.
Summary
For a steep grade, a sharp curve, the width narrowness point cancellation in the National highway No. 340 Akabane Pass section, I am inaugurated in the new road of the one side 1 traffic lane including the Akabane tunnel of extension 2km in 1993 (the old road demotes it to Sumita town road and Tono municipal road). The inland and convenience with the southern part of coast largely in this way improved.
