The bunch of the nerve fiber that there is the sympathetic trunk (こうかんしんけいかん British: sympathetic trunk) besides the backbone and almost traverses from the bottom of the skull to a root of a tail. Right and left have by one, and the ganglions of the sympathetic nerve form a line in this fascicle.

Structure
A lower line does the outside in front of the backbone from the skull bottom, and the sympathetic trunk leads to a root of a tail. I am connected through each spinal nerve or ventral root and communicating branch (grey ramus communicans).
The superior border of the sympathetic trunk does an upper line more and is included from a carotid canal intracranially and forms a nerve plexus on the inner carotid. In addition, the inferior border runs coccygeal front and is put together with the other nerve trunk and forms structure called the ganglion impar (the ganglion impar may not exist).
The existing ganglion is called a paravertebral ganglion along sympathetic trunk. A ganglion classified in a paravertebral ganglion includes the following things.
- Neck
- Height between upper neck ganglion - second cervical spine (epistropheus) and the third cervical spine includes it.
- The height of middle neck ganglion - sixth cervical spine includes it. With a small ganglion, I may not exist.
- Stellate ganglion (neck thoracic ganglia) - neck ganglion and the first thoracic ganglia performed concrescence, and height of the seventh cervical spine includes it. Each may become independent.
- The chest
- The nerve fibers from the fourth thoracic ganglia gather from the twelfth thoracic ganglia - first from the first, and a heart and the lungs visceral nerve is made and is distributed over the intrathoracic internal organs. Similarly, lesser splanchnic nerve is made from the tenth and the eleventh thoracic ganglia, and greater splanchnic nerve is distributed in abdominal cavity from the ninth thoracic ganglia from the fifth. The smallest visceral nerve from the twelfth thoracic ganglia may be made.
- Hips
- Three lumbar ganglion - normal exists, and lumbar splanchnic nerve rises, and here reaches the lower mesentery nerve plexus.
- Sacral region
- Five exist from -4 sacral ganglia. Sacral splanchnic nerve rises, and here reaches the hypogastric plexus.
Function
The sympathetic trunk is important as a component of the sympathetic system among autonomic nervous system. The spinal nerves commute with the nerve of a high rank or the lower marrow clause via this trunk. In addition, like statement above, there are many nerves rising from sympathetic trunk directly including most visceral nerves.
