The supplementary lunch (ほきゅうしょく) is the long-distance food taken in in the middle of a run for a long time with the bicycle.

Summary

I am on the way, and an intake of the food is necessary that exercise lasts for long time as for the road race of the bicycle and the long-distance touring and is short only by the energy that I consumed before a run. Even a commoner uses energy more than 500kcal during a run per hour and uses up internal glycogen by the long-time touring even if I put combustion of the fat in a calculation. Therefore, the supplementary lunch becomes required by the running touring for a long time in succession. Far from a body falling into a hypoglycemia state when I do not nourish it, and a performance extremely decreasing, I may fall into unconsciousness (hanger knock).

Because I eat while running during a race, it is easy to eat, and the good thing of digestion and absorption is demanded. Besides, invention is concentrated so that it is met the special request that I take it out during the run and am easy to eat. Because the necessary nutrient is glycogen basically, a caloric thing is used during a run. Generally, the commercial article such as the power bar (Nestle) is often used, but often eats the thing which the team staff having a dietician qualification in consideration of nourishment balance by the professional road race including the UCI pro tour made in particular.

In the race, the supply area such as the water supply point of the marathon is set, and the player receives supplementary lunch put in "サコッシュ" (Buddha: sacoche, a bag.really a bag) from the support staff of the team, and the one which runs while pocketing it, and eating of the jersey is common (naturally I part and become the driving, and there is not it despite a professional racer if there is not this). In addition, I may receive supplementary lunch from the support car of the team when I fail to receive supplementary lunch in a supply area.

In consideration for a nutrient, a characteristic of the food including the absorbency, the thing which it is hard to take in consumes it in the run first half, and the good thing of the absorption keeps it last, and invention is concentrated.
