The nuclear warhead that the United States of America performed development, use of W58. It is a warhead for Polaris Skywarrior submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) of U.S. Navy.
The size of W58 is 15.6 inches in diameter, 40.3 inches in length; weight is 257 pounds. Is a heat nuclear warhead; the nuclear output is 200kt. 1,400 were produced over from March, 1964 to June, 1967. It is put on the Mk.2 re-entry body which for plural warheads (MRV) was comprised three engines to Polaris Skywarrior. As for the fuse, an airburst and contact detonation are prepared for. I retire with the military retirement of the Polaris missile in 1982.
