Straw stamen central figure
The straw stamen central figure (as for the straw stamen butterfly straw 稭 central figure) is one of the Japanese fairy tales. An original story is seen in "collection of now and the bygone days stories" and "Uji lord in waiting story". The stage comes with Hase-dera Temple of Hase, Sakurai-shi, Nara. A similar story exists all over the world and is seen in Bhutan and Korea, the U.K.

Summary
It is the story that becomes very rich finally as I pass through barter with the straw which a certain one poor person had first. I pass through barter, and I am used as metaphor expression for obtaining an expensive thing last today by a few things. In addition, the ending of the original story (collection of now and the bygone days stories) changes a field for a horse and tells you to become rich with the profit of farm products steadily.
In addition, this story greatly separates you, and there is a thing called "a niggardliness type" other than "a Kannon prayer type" known widely today. The summary of the story is about the same, but, as for the latter, finding a husband becomes the talk around getting married. Both vary in the subject, and the Kannon prayer type is strong in character as 霊験譚 so that I am titled "参長谷男, 依観音助得富話" with a collection of now and the bygone days stories, and the ending is a gift of some patience (rice growing and caretaker), and there is the trace that that is why it was told flourishingly as sermon and 唱導. Outline (Kannon prayer type)
There was a poor man of a certain one in old days. After praying to the Kannon to escape from poverty by some means or other, I took a divine message, "firstly I had the thing which I touched carefully and appeared on the trip". The man tripped on a stone as soon as I went out of Kannondo and fell down, and a hand touched one straw stalk (straw) accidentally.
The man held according to divine message, the straw stalk in a hand and went ahead through the way. However, around his face, a big horsefly flies about it and cannot help being noisy. Therefore I tied it to the point of the straw stalk when the man caught a horsefly.
Then the great boy who cried is amused by the straw stalk which a horsefly was tied to at the side and says that I want it. The man believed a maid of the Kannon and was not going to hand it over, but received a mandarin orange as a substitute for concession to a boy in a straw stalk because mother of the boy who had difficulty dealing with it reported to cry very much saying "let's change it with a mandarin orange".
Furthermore, there was the merchant who suffered from the thirst of the throat when I walked. He wanted the mandarin orange which a man had and approached you with exchange with the cloth after having had. The man handed over a mandarin orange and obtained cloth.
The man who was pleased when one straw stalk was replaced to good cloth meets a samurai. As for the samurai, a favorite horse had fallen down by a sudden illness, but there was it in the situation that must get rid of a horse to be in a hurry. The samurai gives a retainer an order for the disposal of the horse and hurries in the point. The man offered cloth and horse trade to the retainer of the samurai. The retainer receives cloth and just follows the samurai. The horse regained spirit and stood up when a man gave a horse it taking water into account. The man continued a trip on a horse.
I ran into a big mansion when I went ahead through the way. The master of the mansion where I was going to just go to for a trip offers the absence of the mansion to a man when I want to borrow a horse as a substitute for a request. If oneself does not come home within three years, the master says that I hand over this mansion to a man. The man consented, and the master started on a trip horseback.
The master did not come home from a trip even if I wait for five years even if I wait for three years. The man was able to obtain the main personality of the mansion, a rich living in this way.

Niggardliness type
Other than "the Kannon prayer model mentioned above," there is the story of the form called "a niggardliness type".
A poor person is going to marry a very rich daughter. The millionaire pushes a difficult problem "to change three straw into 1,000 cars" as a condition of the marriage. It is a story that the poor person carries out leaf → niggardliness → celebrated sword → 1,000 of straw → lotus and exchange, a safe promise in the process of the trip and gets married.

It was become a doll animation with the title of "the Japanese old tale straw stamen central figure" in 1971 by Gakken movie and was shown in open "Toho champion festival" on July 24, the same year. Color, standard, 18 minutes. With a choice product of the Ministry of Education, I won a gold medal in the first Tokyo educational film contest [1].
