Sapporo international half marathon

A Sapporo international half marathon meet (whether Sapporo is a half mullah disadvantageous sea bream when I release it) is a track-and-field meeting held in the beginning of July every year until 2012.

Commentary

This meeting served as the all-star representative selection of the world half marathon championship (Old World road running championship).

I ran through the Sapporo city by Maruyama, Sapporo-shi sports stadium departure and arrival of Sapporo-shi, Hokkaido and was performed in the course of the Higashisapporo Article 3 5 chome lapel in Shiroishi-ku. I was known as the meeting that a good time was easy to be over for the course, and there was few it for the meeting of the half marathon performed again in the summer, and was a meeting well- known as the race that domestic and foreign first rank players such as Juma Ikangaa of the boy, Naoko Takahashi, Mizuki Noguchi, Lidia Simon, Catherine Ndereba of the girl participated in climatically.

A lot of university students aiming at Tokyo-Hakone collegiate ekiden participated, but there was the participation of many students more conventionally because the half marathon item of the Japan student track and field interschool competition championship (Japanese intercollegiates) held for the same period from 2005 disappeared.

History

I began in 1958 as "thyme marathon" hosted by Hokkai Times-sha.

Distance is shortened to 30km than the 17th of 1974 and is renamed to "a thyme marathon 30km road race". Subsidiary of Nippon Television nationwide broadcasting was started at this by the Sapporo Television Broadcasting (STV) production that was a Hokkai Times-sha-affiliated broadcasting station, and this became the road race broadcast first for a similar line [¹].

It becomes the half marathon form than the 30th of (Hokkaido marathon starts it in the same year) in 1987, and it is for "a thyme international half marathon", but Hokkai Times-sha leaves the 32nd for financial difficulties last. I am renamed to "Sapporo international half marathon" than the 33rd of 1990. The sponsorship newspaper publisher becomes Yomiuri Shimbun which acquired Hokkai Times-sha trademark.

In meeting Organizing Committee held on December 27, 2012, it decided the 55th meeting last to be canceled [²].
