A high rope peninsula (たかなわはんとう) is Northwest Shikoku, a peninsula in in Ehime. In the west, the north, the east faces the invasion-warning facilities rough sea across 斎灘, the Kurushima Strait.
Saijo-shi is in Imabari-shi, the southeastern part in Matsuyama-shi, the northeastern part in the western part, and JR Yosan Line almost runs in this peninsula along the shore.
While it was long, National highway No. 11 that lay across National highway No. 196 and the peninsula base which ran along a shoreline in the east and west was a main national highway, but in late years, in 1996, a tunnel knew the mountain pass a heap of mountains, water of the peninsula center and was connected directly Matsuyama-shi and Imabari-shi by National highway No. 317. Furthermore, the expressways such as the Matsuyama Expressway, west Seto Expressway, Imabari Komatsu Expressway are maintained, too.
There are the high rope mountains of central part (986m) which became the name of the peninsula to a heap of mountains, but the highest peak is the Tosan ヶ forest where it is in the border of Imabari-shi, Saijo-shi, Toon-shi (1,233m). Most of the peninsulas are quality of weathering granite, but a medial line lies in the east and west in the south side of the peninsula, and many fault planes are recognized.
