Handa-shi (and I received it) is a city of Aichi. I belong to Owari, the Chita district.

Summary

It is a city formed with (1937), a merger of the Handamachi, Kamezaki-cho, Narawa-cho in 1937. It was the first municipal organization enforcement at sixth, Chita Peninsula in Aichi. I reach it afterwards at the present without experiencing a new merger.

With growth of the brewing that got into full swing from the middle of Edo era, it developed as a harbor city. I play a key role of the administration in Chita Peninsula after the Meiji era. The manufacturing industry such as steel or the car-related industry steps forward after the Pacific War, too. It is located in the suburbs of Nagoya-shi and has the character as the constant base in the Chita Peninsula central part [1].

It was the city which declared denuclearization by a resolution about "the nucleus demilitarization declaration that I was against atomic and hydrogen bombs experiment prohibition and a nuclear weapon carry-on" that I performed in (1958), a municipal assembly in 1958 for the first time in Japan [2] and decided "nuclearfree peace city declaration" (1993) in 1993 that was a turning point of the 55th anniversary of the municipal organization [3].

Central Japan International Airport opens in Tokoname-shi that is adjacent in 2005, and there were newly many companies planning the setting of the office to this district, but there are many companies to take place, and to be based in in this Handa-shi because the acceptance system which is enough in Tokoname-shi was not set. Because the approximately 30% degree of the high school of Chita Peninsula was concentrated in our city, this tended to choose a solder in the education of children about a house rather than a company, but was able to increase the houses for live-alone in Tokoname-shi.

Chita-shi is in the Chita district, but there are many things existing in our city in a company and the group naming the name of "Chita" from the process that Handa-shi has been placed as as the center of the Chita district.

『ごん fox』 などで is hometown of writer of children's story Nankichi Niimi to be known to, and there is the Nankichi Niimi Memorial in the city, and the fields of flowers associated with a children's story around a memorial open.

Was located in the central part of the Chita Peninsula East Coast, and the city limits reversed L-shaped right and left; have a shape. The east faces the Gulf of Kinuura, and the west contacts with Tokoname-shi on Chita hill. The neighborhood of river mouth of Agui river, ten rivers which runs through the center of city limits, and flows is the center where city halls concentrate on. There is the city area in the former 海岸線沿 unpleasant reclaimed land, and a residential area spreads out in the inland. The reclaimed land is used as an industrial site mainly. The hill part becomes the agriculture site.

Chita Peninsula road, Minamichita road runs through a western hill country Meitetsu Kowa Line each in an inland JR Taketoyo Line and National highway No. 247 in a coastal place.

History

The Edo era, the city limits were territories of Owari feudal clan, Inuyama lord of a castle Naruse (in Inuyama feudal clan 立藩) and the Buddhist temple and Shinto shrine. I belonged to Chita-gun until the municipal organization enforcement.

Brewing such as liquor, soy sauce, the miso prospered for a long time. When the brewing of the vinegar using the sake lees began at the middle of Edo era, there was the finger sushi boom of Edo, and the barreled vinegar was carried to Edo by Owari lighter. To the town of the food industry of the Japanese eminence that the development of such a brewing leads to the formation of current Handa-shi, and is represented by Mizkan became basic.

Kinuura Ohashi

Because the financial power of the local government is weak, in Handa-shi, road maintenance is late, and a traffic jam occurs chronically in some routes in the city.

It is example, and around Kinuura Ohashi of National highway No. 247 has an influence on the access from the west Mikawa area to Central Japan International Airport. It is a cause with many traffic jams that the important place does not have the right turn traffic lane in the main line than other cities. For example, approximately 5km between Kinuura Ohashi intersections has a long red light and it is always congested and often needs 15 minutes for the passage from the Deguchicho intersection from ten minutes. It cannot be said that the connection to the Kinuura tunnel is good, but solder Tokoname Line and the connection of the Minamichita, Handa line (old harbor road) completed it in March, 2011, and construction is completed a high shelf before and after Meitetsu Kowa Line Aoyama Station, and facilitation of the road traffic is expected.

It is only this Handa-shi and Taketoyo-cho that both Meitetsu and JR stations are located in a city area of Chita Peninsula (both lines pass Higashiura-cho, but, in Meitetsu, a station is not established in a town). It is Meitetsu Chita-Handa Station that there are the most users in the city, but "the JTB timetable" lists JR Handa Station as "the representative (the center) city station".

Route bus

Handa-shi was located in the center of Chita Peninsula, and Chita-Handa Station had ever become the basic point of the route bus to Chita Peninsula and the west Mikawa district, but in late years the passenger decreased, and, in almost all bus routes, it was decreased the number of flights of abolition or shortening by motorization, the opening of business of the Meitetsu Chita new line, convenience improvement of JR Taketoyo Line. In addition, after the Central Japan International Airport opening of a port, plural airport bus routes were established, but it is still only Tokoname Line to be traveled. Because it is Chita model, and all the festival cars in this item developed in our city, I am called an another name "solder type".

There are 31 in total, and I pull it by the festival of each district every year in spring, and a solid float displayed in a luxurious sculpture, large curtain in Handa-shi is turned to each city district. Once in five years, 31 festival cars gather in a hall by this festival held in the last year when one column becomes 2 or 7 of the Christian era and are full of many tourists during a period.

業葉神社に山車四輛を夕刻に曳き入れ、提灯を点燈したのち、三番叟・太平楽の舞・采振り（からくり人形）・巫女舞（からくり人形）を奉納する。
亀崎潮干祭（5月3・4日）
亀崎潮干祭
言い伝えによれば、室町時代の応仁・文明年間に起源を持つ半田市亀崎町に伝わる祭礼。神前神社（通称：県社）前の海浜に、江戸時代後期に建造された知多型（半田型）の山車5台を曳き下ろして整列、からくり人形を奉納する（伊勢湾台風後は堤防で塞がれて海中への曳き下ろしは出来なかったが、近年堤防を開閉式にしてその先を人工砂浜として整備し、曳き下ろしが可能となった）。その後は、町の西にある尾張三社へ神輿が移動することから、山車はそれに従う形で曳き回される。2日目は1日目と逆のコースを取る。「亀崎潮干祭の山車」5台は1966年（昭和41年）に愛知県有形民俗文化財に指定され、2006年（平成18年）には「亀崎潮干祭の山車行事」が国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定された。

マスコットキャラクター

だし丸くん 当市の観光マスコットキャラクター。6月2日生まれで5歳の男の子。山車祭りを通じて、市民が1つの「輪（丸）」に、との願いが込められている。山車の屋根部分をデザインした帽子（提灯付き）に、はんだ山車祭りのマークの入った赤い法被姿で、Tシャツには、大好きな童話「ごんぎつね」をイメージしたキツネが描かれている。頭の後ろには半田運河と半田赤レンガ建物が描かれた追幕が下がり、手には山車運行に重要な拍子木が握られている[9]。Facebookをやっていて観光PRに一役買っている。語尾に「～ダシ」と付くのが特徴。公式ソング「半田だし丸くん音頭」も作られた[10]。

ごん吉くん 当市の偉人、童話作家、新美南吉の生誕100年（2013年）に向けて誕生した、南吉童話のPRイメージキャラクターで、肩書きは南吉童話ナビゲーター。デザインと名前は公募により全国より寄せられた作品より選ばれた。南吉童話といえば「ごんぎつね」ということでキツネをモチーフに、同じくキツネが主人公の「手袋を買いに」にちなんだ茶色の手袋をはめ、南吉ゆずりのグレーの帽子とジャケットで決めている（実は南吉の弟子で、ごんぎつねのひ孫という設定で住民票もある[11]である）。誕生日は3月24日。原付用の生誕100年記念ご当地ナンバープレートが作られた[12]。彼もFacebookでPR活動をやっている。「いつまでも広く愛されるキャラクターに育てていきたいと考えています」と公式ページに表示がなされていることより、今後も活躍は続く模様である[13]。

はなちゃん 半田市社会福祉協議会マスコットキャラクター。広報紙「はなちゃん通信」や「はなちゃんケアプランセンター（半田市/在宅介護サービス）」、「はなちゃんの部屋（ボランティアセンターブログ）」、「はなちゃん助成金（ボランティア・市民活動団体対象の助成金制度）」などのタイトルになっている、両方の耳にカラフルな花の付いた水色の象。

ぶーやん はんだまちづくりひろばマスコットキャラクター。ボランティア・市民活動情報紙『かつどん』でボランティアや福祉についてやさしく解説する「ぶーやん先生」としても登場するぶたさん。片方の鼻の穴から下がってる鼻水がチャームポイント。
