Geisha Shimada

Geisha Shimada (げいしゃしまだ) is transformation of the shimada coiffure dressed from the late Tokugawa period by a geisha of Edo.

It is a kind of "killing Shimada" and does the almost same peasants of the mutual help system other than family crest in the shape of bundled silk floss and the hair ornament which the girl dresses.

Characteristic

Forelock and sideburns, 髱 keep a space and do not give roundness and are neat hair dressing generally. "Killing Shimada" dressed it without putting the cushion called "a pillow" in the part of the root of the chignon unlike a taka-shimada coiffure and when a root hung long Japanese paper in the chignon low, the center of the chignon became dented and seemed to be destroyed. It was the chignon of the smart impression that geisha Shimada hung white long Japanese paper or a silver polygonum filiforme on the part of the chignon of this "killing Shimada" and tied up, and I was dressed by a geisha of Edo or the teacher of the song.

It was raging in the Edo era, but "geisha Shimada" whom the name is similar to is kind of the taka-shimada coiffure in the same shimada coiffure without being liked to a geisha of Kyoto probably because an appearance is quiet. Because the chignon is slightly small and is slightly narrow, and some positions are low, and 髱 lengthens below the hairstyle of the daughter for a long time, all look amorous.
