Edvard ハーゲルップ Grieg (Edvard Hagerup Grieg [ˈɛdʋɑɖˈhɑːɡərʉpˈɡrɪɡ], from June 15, 1843 to September 4, 1907) is a Norwegian composer. The pronunciation in the local word is near "Edo Val グリッグ". In addition, I may be transcribed into "Greek" under the influence of the German reading that g of the ending of a word becomes voiceless sound, and is often pronounced /k/.
Grieg obtained an idea from Norwegian folk music and attracted attention as a composer of the Nationalist School. I can watch the deep influence from his folk music from suite "Peer Gynt" first piece, the beginning beginning from a melody when edge からつま played the sympathetic string of ハリングフェーレ which is a Norwegian racial musical instrument "in the morning". In addition, his portrait was drawn on the old 500 kroner bill.

Life
Grieg was born in the house of the Bergen city as the fourth child (one older brother, older sister two, younger sister one) of five brothers in Norway under the rule in Sweden. Great-grandfather Alexander of the father's side was a Scot from Aberdeenshire naturalized in Norway in 1779, and the family name of the whole families was originally Greig (Greg).
In 1858, talent is found by violinist, オーレ bulldog (Ole Bull, from 1810 to 1880) and learns composition and a piano at the House of Leipzig music during three and a half years.
I lived in interval, Copenhagen, Denmark for 1863 through 3 and learned from composer Nils ゲーゼ. Here, early works such as a symphony (there is no Opus), a piano sonata (work 7), the violin sonata first (work 8) were made. In addition, I get married in cousins in Nina ハーゲルップ (Nina Hagerup, from 1845 to 1935) and encounter, 1867 of the soprano singer. The later song was almost composed for Mrs. Nina.
I take office as a leader of association of Philharmonic orchestra of the Christiania (existing Oslo) and, in 1867, have friendship with folk song collector Linnaeus man and national poet Bjornson. Stage music for "King シーグル of the Crusade" was composed. I publish a collection of "collection of lyricism short pieces of music" first which is an important work of Grieg.
I lived in the Khadan gel (Hull Dan gel) district of the Bergen east from 1877 through 1880. I gradually devote myself to folk music, a race musical instrument.
I build the dwelling house to a trawl how gene (hill of the fairy) in the suburbs of Bergen in 1884, and I am from Bergen, and a piano suite makes (I arrange it in a string ensemble in 1885, the following day) from "the times of Holberg" for birth 200 years of dramatist ルズヴィ Holberg (Ludvig Holberg, from 1684 to 1754) who played an active part in Denmark.
In 1901, health condition gradually turns worse. I publish a collection of "collection of lyricism short pieces of music" tenth. After having made sure of independence of 1905 in Norway, in 1907, I died in Bergen.
I learned at the House of Leipzig music and played a cello, but older brother ヨーン did not become an occupational musician, too. There is the cello sonata which I composed for an older brother.
Person image
Grieg was very small. I am famous as a pianist of the prominent technique and often perform a concert tour of Europe with own work during the lifetime. The acoustic recording of later years and a piano roll are left and are available with a CD now.
I loved nature and the sea of old capital Bergen that was cloth, Norway deeply. They were cremated after death, and a grave was established on the rock face which overlooked the lake under the house of the trawl how gene, and some ashes were sprinkled on the lake by a will.
In addition, as for the symphony which is the study which is not referred Opus to, there is the episode that I sealed to listen to a symphony of composer Johan Svendsen of same Norway.
Grieg took good care of 終世, the ornament of the small frog so as to get on the palm and the stuffed toy of the piglet and seemed to be same when I slept. I seemed to grasp the ornament of the frog in a pocket quietly not to get nervous at the time of concert. In addition, the ornament of this frog and the stuffed toy of the piglet are displayed by the family (current Edvard Grieg Museum) of Grieg.
Work
Grieg composes many short pieces for a piano and may be called "North European Chopin". In addition, I wrote three pieces of sonatas as a piano for a violin.
In a work of Grieg who is a number, incidental music to drama "Peer Gynt" of Henrik Ibsen and piano concerto A minor are the most famous in Japan. Piano concerto A minor is used with "toccata and fugue D minor" of symphony fifth "fate" and Bach of Beethoven well as BGM letting you image "tragedy" and is the representative music that even anyone has listened to if I listen to music even if I do not know a composer and a title of a musical composition. There are many works which arranged piano music and a song in an orchestral music and a string ensemble.
