8, Furutsu Hatayama remains

The remains where the 8, Furutsu Hatayama remains (ふるつはちまんやまいせき) extend over Furutsu, Akiha-ku, Niigata-shi, Niigata, Kanazu and Gawakesawa. In the remains, there is the 8, Furutsu Hatayama old burial mound, too.

It is a remain from last part of Yayoi period to be located in the ridge of the Niitsu hill west to earlier period of Burial Mound age. Altitude of the ridge top is 53 meters. Approximately 11.5 hectares is appointed on the historic spot of the country in 2005. It is the northernmost part for highlands-related moat colony of Hokuriku origin.

History

In 1987, I was confirmed by Furutsu, Kanazu with the Banetsu Expressway construction, the remains range confirmation investigation of Gawakesawa. In the later discussion, the main part of remains was fixed at being stored the present conditions. Niitsu-shi Board of Education 14th, Niigata-shi Board of Education one time investigate it so far.

I discover it alone in a hill top part among the circular moat. There were few exhumation things. It is thought with a terminal thing in Yayoi period just after the village extinction.

Earthenware vessel

Because I excavated it from an earthenware vessel pit type house, a tomb surrounded by a square moat, the circular moat of three pro-northeastern system (decisive point expression system), staying in the locale compromise of Hokuriku origin (Hachimanyama expression) systems, it is thought that I made it at the same time. From this, it is guessed that there were Tohoku Aizu and a relation with the Hokuriku district middle western district.

8, Furutsu Hatayama old burial mound

With the thing which is in the first half of Burial Mound age, I project into the north side in a round burial mound of 60 meters in diameter. I was built on the tip of the ridge of the Niitsu hill where there was a village once. 墳頂部分 is large, and a lap groove is left in the south side of the old burial mound. There is not the house of the same period, and an old burial mound exists alone. It is thought with the grave of the chief. It is the Niigata prefecture's greatest scale and exceeds an iris mound old burial mound.
