Shiroishi Station and neighborhood approximately 2km range of 1976. The left is the Sapporo area. There was the military army weapon supply depot station in the bottom end center, and, like Atsubetsu Station, a military use line has been ever spread by the Atsubetsu side of our station. I can confirm the track in United States Armed Forces photography aerial photograph USA-R246-177 in 1948 of Geographical Survey Institute map, the aerial photo reading service. Entry of route

I assume Hakodate Main Line position line [1], and 2 routes that added Chitose Line run in it. Our station is a terminal of Chitose Line on the basic plan of Hokkaido Railway [note 1], but all the trains of Chitose Line run in Hakodate Main Line and communicate Sapporo Station directly. It becomes the quadruple track from our station to Sapporo Station, and Hakodate Main Line system, Chitose Line system uses separate tracks each.

There is Shiroishi Station of the same name to Sapporo municipal subway Tozai Line, but there are both stations in approximately 1.6km away totally another place and does not give it off with a transfer station (I refer to a "bus route" knob for the bus which stop JR Line driving by an accident, the trouble and is not appointed at substitute transportation Station at time either, and contacts the station).

History

A station on a bridge which has 2 lines other than the island expression home two 4 line according to the direction. The turn of the home belonging to becomes two or three, five or six numbered wire from the south exit side.

In addition, among trains departing from and arriving at Platform 3, there is the train which crosses the crossover after the Shiroishi Station departure, and runs in the upbound track of Hakodate Main Line several mainly on the daytime.

A green window (business hours from 5:50 to 23:00), automatic ticket gate are put at a direct management station. Kiosk setting.

There was a car train pier on the east side of the station, but was dismantled in January, 2008. It is used a parking lot and the station on a bridge of the park and train afterwards as a spare lot for construction.

Use situation

The daily mean vehicle ridership (number not to include a transit passenger in) of 2014 is 7,868 people. The increase of the user is remarkable and outruns 2 cannabis, Kitahiroshima stations in 2013 and is the station where there is much ridership to the eighth in the company now.

Around station

South side

I developed from the historic process that was next to the central city area of the old Shiraishi village as a business district. There are only a convenience store (Seicomart) and some stores, restaurants at the station square, and a supermarket and a drugstore exist between approximately 700m to National highway No. 12.

North side

A farm was the zone that spread out, but became the residential area before urbanization advanced. They are constructing the later JR Shiroishi Station outskirts maintenance business, and the facilities becoming the convenience are not seen. It is approximately 350m to 864 north Article 13 Toru Kitago on the way.

Around JR Shiroishi Station maintenance business

Maintenance business around JR Shiroishi Station is pushed forward by Sapporo-shi. The content of the business plan is as follows [6].

  1. I rebuild Shiroishi Station in a station on a bridge. I install an elevator escalator as consideration to an elderly person, a person with a disability.
  2. I build the freedom passage in substitution for a pedestrian bridge. I do the traffic of the divided south side and north side lively virtually and cancel the badness of the access of the north and south by rail.
  3. I expand the south exit open space, and the station square is founded by Kitaguchi. Other than a bicycle parking lot, a bus pad, the taxi pool is maintained again each, too.
  4. In consideration of the road convenience from the north exit open space, an authority of Shiroishi Station north was inaugurated from the open space to north Article 13 Kitago Street.
  5. Because there was a brick factory once around a station, a brick is going to be used for an open space monument.

A design and explanation, the site compensation to neighboring inhabitants started the real construction from a degree (2005) at the center from April, 2009 in year, the following day in 2005. After the service of the Hashigami station building was started (2011) on January 30 in 2011, the dismantling of the old station building and the extension of the home are going to be pushed forward. In addition, the commemorative admission ticket of the hard ticket and a commemorative Orange Card were released in commemoration of the service of the station building.

  • Our ticket departing from and arriving at a station of JR is printed (box) with Shiroishi in the face of a bill (the ticket more than 200km is excluded.identification capital ward city reference). "" (box) is a cable address of Hakodate Main Line. A station of the same name is in Kumamoto and Miyagi each in JR, and this is because it distinguishes it from them.
  • In Shiroishi Station of Hokkaido Railway and Shiroishi Station of Sapporo municipal subway Tozai Line, "Shiroishi of the subway" and the one which I call it and divide are common "Shiroishi of JR" in the hometown to be located in remote totally another place distantly each.
