Summary

The first

A map of 1937 (1937) around Shinjuku Station. Musashino hall, Shinjuku seat, Shinjuku empire building crowd at 角筈町 1 (current Shinjuku 3) of the east side (the right side) of the station other than the hall.

Was built newly (1929) at 東京府豊多摩郡淀橋町角筈 1 (per current 3-37-12, Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) as a movie theater of Tokyo of the Makino production direct management in the end of December, the same year after the death of Shozo Makino of July 25 1929, and opened it [1]; [2] [4]. The company's Omuro studio showed the hall to the opening program on December 31, the same year for the national open first person in "続影法師狂燥篇" (supervision Buntaro Futagawa), "Class 6, Yotsuya law plain-wood handle" (supervision Hozo Nakajima) who produced it [12]; [13]. The 2 product was a program for New Year holidays of the company, and it was flagship building of the company, and the hall showed most works for the nationwide open first person after (1930) in 1930, the following day [14]; [15]. According to "the Japanese movie business conspectus 1930 version," in the hall at the time of the same year, as for the number of the audience capacity at the time, as for 458 people, the circuit, as for Makino, the management, "Makino 關東社" (Makino cinema Kanto distribution place, 代表阪間好之助), the manager were Hidetada Takahashi [1].

In the opening original Shinjuku Station neighborhood, only 4 building existed including Musashino building (current Shinjuku Musashino hall), new life building of the independence building of Eastern Asia cinema, the Teikoku Kinema Engei Co., Ltd. system, Shigeko singularity building (のちの Shigeko film theater) which was independence building of the Nikkatsu system in those days in the Kashiwagi district of the west exit and the hall known as pro-independence of the foreign film special first-run showing building in same 角筈地区 [1]. Musashino hall moved to the place as of Shinjuku Street 沿 いから (1928) in December in 1928 one year before the hall built it and was completed, and new construction was completed [16], and the Shinjuku theater chose an opposition-like location for this. According to "the Japanese movie business conspectus 1930 version," there were the Chiyoda building (阪間商事経営) of six wards of Asakusa Park, Torigoe cinema (Daisaku Shimazaki individual management) of Torigoe, riverside fish market cinema (阪間商事経営) of Nihonbashi, cinema Ginza of Ginza and grand cinema (all run the Okura performance department), Kakishima building (eight Suzuki good luck person management) of Tsukishima, cotton rose building (阪間商事経営) of Sendagi, 傳通館 (Sakuji Kato individual management) of Koishikawa, Yotsuya Nikkatsu building (Nikkatsu management) of Arakicho, Roppongi Shochiku building (Okura performance department management) of Azabu, Atago cinema (person of Takahashi beauty Taro individual management) and Shibaura cinema (阪間商事経営) of the turf, the Narihira seat (阪間商事経営) of the court noble in the Tokyo city as of June of the year [17]. In July of the year, first run building of the Makino system increases play comfort building of six wards of Asakusa Park [4].

However, finance turns worse, and production stops the Makino production under the new system after the death of Shozo (1931) after April in 1931 [18]. "Kyoto short ballad willow cherry tree" (監督金森萬象) which the hall released on April 24, the same year for the first person of the national exhibition became the last handiwork of the company [15].

It is unknown about the management main constituent of the hall after the Makino production dissolution, but a record shown for the nationwide each open first person "jockey (supervision Noji Nakamura) of the green" whom singularity movie Corporation distributed production to on July 14 in the next month in the same year publicly remains in order that Teikoku Kinema Engei Co., Ltd. entertainment wants to distribute production on June 26, the same year and "loves it" (supervision Jukichi Suzuki) [19]; [20].

World War II was started, and control was established in the wartime in (1942) in 1942, and all movie theaters were incorporated in 2 systems of rouge system, the White Russian by distribution of corporate judicial person movie distribution Corporation that all movies in Japan were established on February 1, the same year, but, according to "the movie yearbook 1942 version," in the hall at the time of the same year, as for the number of the audience capacity at the time, as for 438, the management, the individual management, the manager of Suzuki good luck eight entered Ichiro Fujita, the distribution system of the White Russian afterwards [3]. Is an executive director at the time of the big city movie establishment [21], and Suzuki good luck eight is the individual owner who ran the Kiba Toho Eiga Co., Ltd. theater (ex-Koba Electric building) other than the hall in Kakishima hall, Kakishima film theater, Kiba of Tsukishima at the time of the same year [3]; [22] [23]. According to "the movie yearbook 1943 version," the management of the hall is changed to Masuki Tamura from Suzuki in (1943) in 1943 [23]. It was closed at April (1944) in 1944 when the war situation deepened by the second forced evacuation and was demolished [9].

A new Shukuno sum building starts a business and reaches (1999), the ruins at the present in 1999 [10]. Musashino Kogyo running the Shinjuku Musashino hall owns the ground and leases it to the building [10].

The second

It is a photograph of Kabukicho (1960) in February for 1,960 years. Shinjuku Theater (the second), the right are Shinjuku frame Theater the left.

After World War II, I will develop a district (Kabukicho) where the Tokyo Prefectural fifth girls' high school (and I move current Tokyo Metropolitan Fuji high school) was ever, and 林以文 opens Shinjuku earth seat (1947) in December in 1947 [5]. It is postwar "Shinjuku theater" that 惠通企業 (current Hugh max) which a forest established in May is built newly (1953) (1948) at 879, Kabukicho, Shinjuku-ku (current 1-20-1, Kabukicho) on January 2 1953 1948, the following day, and opened (the second) [5]; [6] [7] [24] [25]. The presentation such as dramas was carried out at first, too, and the Roppa Furukawa and others appeared, too [6]; [7] [25]. 林以文 dealt with the rebuilding of the Moulins, Shinjuku rouge in April of the age that started the earth seat, but close at May (1951) 1951 [5]; [26]. There was not the beginning of opening of business [7], and the windmill which imitated a popular thing of the Moulins, Shinjuku rouge in the next year was attached to the roof of this Shinjuku theater which built newly two years later [7]; [8]. Colonized as foreign film special first-run showing building before long [7]; [8].

In the hall appearing in photograph "Kabukicho" (frame Theater, in front of Shinjuku theater) that Shinjuku history Museum shows, "lovers" (French version) (supervision Louis Malle, April 24, 1959 Japan exhibition [27]), "instinct (French version) that was out of order" (supervision Edmond T Greville (French version), June 10, 1959 Japan exhibition [28]) are shown [8], and "hang saliva in the grave, and, in the right photograph," (French version) (supervision Michel gusto (French version), January 29, 1960 Japan exhibition [29]), "way (French version) of students" (supervision Michel ボワロン, December 1, 1959 Japan exhibition [30]) are shown. As for these four of them, as for the distribution, was shown a lot all the work of the pro-independence that was 映配 (representative salt next Hideo) European film distribution company [27]; [28] [29] [30].

In addition, in the 1960s, they introduced the facilities of the 70mm movie, and the masterpieces such as "the stories of the grand life" showed.

I close at 1970 (1970). Shinjuku Joey pack building was built in the ruins (1971) in October in 1971 [5]. I changed Hugh max pavilion Kabukicho, Shinjuku and a name later [5].

The Shinjuku Joey cinema (1-21-7, Kabukicho) which was the Shinjuku earth seat that led, and practiced medicine, and was next to the hall, succession building boasted of up to five screen after (1984) in 1984, but it was finally 3 screen, and the movie theater which Hugh max ran (2009) in all screen closing, Kabukicho district on May 31 in 2009 became all extinct [24]; [31].

Filmography

Among works placed in the Japanese movie database, the hall is located for the national open first person, and is the list of of all works which mention it specially publicly as a hall, and are recorded [14]; [15]. Because the screening works by the positioning except "the first person of the national exhibition" were enormous, I omitted it. Write it down on the right side of the Pub. Date about the existence situation of the print for the screening such as Tokyo National Museum of Modern Arts film center (NFC), the Mazda movie company possession [32]; [33].
