Summary

Having the head end-type home of two 1 lines, it was a station of the typical wiring of the top side of the cable car. The station building was adjacent to the platform not a head end part. There was not the automatic ticket machine, and all the tickets depended on hand selling at the window.

信貴山朝護孫子寺 which was a transportation destination was nearby and was locally in comparison with Takayasuyama Station of the west Nobutaka steel cable line of the west slope advantageous.

However, because the west Nobutaka steel cable line communicated the Osaka center directly through current Shigi Line, Osaka Line from the beginning of opening of business, the flow of the person moves there and will share a route and fate as the geographical predominance of the precious station is not utilized enough.

Situation of the station after the abolition

The station yard is converted into the Shigisan bus terminal of Nara Kotsu now leaving a station building. The slope of the Nobutaka Azuma steel cable line has been gentle, and a stop is established in the place where there was just a platform before, and the bus to the Shigisan-Shita Station area arrives and departs.

The station building is used as a waiting room, and the route map of Kintetsu from active play is left in the station building, too. The old home side is considerably modified, but, in the former station square side, the decoration brick under the ticket window where there remained it other than a station name board having been removed and a ticket office and a station office having been blockaded on the entrance left side as the active play times of "Shigisan Station" reminds me of those days.

In addition, in the waiting room where I converted an abolished station building into, handling tends to be easy to become disregarded, but the planter which planted a flower at the former station square in the case of our station is installed and is lowered eaves にぼんぼりがぶら of the entrance in the season of the cherry tree, and handling as if it is a station active at all is performed and still saves my face as a doorway of the Shigisan east base of a mountain.

Other

I am called "Shigisan Station" by mistake, and a station name of "Shigisan-Shita Station" of Ikoma Line may cause confusion "Shigisanguchi Station" of Shigi Line.

A station with the name of "Shigisan Station" was only our station throughout the life, and 2 stations which I raised earlier have still less named "Shigisan Station" it.
