"Orphan Mary" (こじ Mary, French: Marie-Claire) of the literary work by French novelist Marguerite Audoux.
Summary
Audoux worked as a seamstress in those days in Paris, and, in her house, it was in the salon of young artists. The novel of the autobiography written by the advice of Octave Mirbeau who went there is this product. This became her maiden work.
Audoux won feh Mina Prize of 1910 by this work. In addition, "workshop (1926) of Mary Clair" was written as a sequel.

Young Mary will spend nine years by death of mother and disappearance of father in an orphan home and spends days brightly while it is watched beautifully by Mary Aimee of the kind sister. Mary will work as breeding of sheep before long at a farm and I part from a sister and leave the orphan home. Mary working hard gets the trust of the people of the farm, but will leave the farm because I lost it in love with Henri who is the younger brother of the wife of the farmer. She comes back to the orphan home, and Mary who met a sister again goes to Paris by the advice of the older sister.
