The academy where educational foundation south optics garden runs northeast Senior High School (とうほくこうとうがっこう). I am located in Sendai-shi, Miyagi. The current popular name is "Tohoku" (とうほく), but is often understood when I explain the school to old people of the prefecture when I use "south light" (nothing in this way) that is the popular name for the boys' school era.

Summary

The school building has two of Komatsushima campus (map) of 4, Komatsushima, Aoba-ku and the spring campus (map) of 7, Yakata, Izumi-ku and will belong to either by a course.

The rigid baseball club is Koshien participation regular customer school, but I pass more than 30 years and compete for Sendai endowment and the seat of the Miyagi representative. Is a runner up in the 85th whole country Senior High School baseball championship memory meeting of (2003) in 2003; of the Koshien skilled player school carried out joining it.

Girl golf club won the championship at a national high school golf championship in continuation and 2009 for five years from 2003 through 2007 [1].

  • I authorize it as (1900), "northeast Junior High School" in 1900.
  • I build a school building and move to (1929), Odawara, Ichiharacho, Sendai character south luster 57 (existing Komatsushima, Aoba-ku, Sendai-shi, existing Komatsushima campus) for 1,929 years.
  • I establish (1930), a northeastern commercial school in 1930.

Komatsushima skating center

Our school which I moved to Komatsushima in (1929) in 1929 recommended the ice skating that was sports in view of policy of the overall pattern education and Sendai being the Japanese birthplace of the figure skating (reference) in the new winter season [4]. In addition, in 与兵衛沼 (map) where our school managed the ice, our school used it as an exercise place of the ice hockey, and it was with the site of various meetings that a large number of spectators gathered [4].

Our school established outdoor skating rink "Komatsushima skating center" (map) (1964) in October in 1964 [4]. Our center was opened from October to March, and our school opened it to the public in the morning in use, the afternoon, and ice hockey club used it by night [4]. However, it was closed down (1974) in March in 1974 [4].

The reason why our center was established is unclear, but the temperature of the winter season of Sendai rises for the rapid economic growth period, and wetlands and a river become hard to freeze, and it is known that the ice skating in many wetlands and rivers in the city became outdated in the 40, Showa generation. The closedown reason of our center was unclear, too, but when the ice skating in wetlands and the river began to become outdated in the city, indoor link of the artificial ice making opened in sequence, and environment of the ice skating greatly changed (reference).
