The Kay sage (Kay Sage, from June 25, 1898 to January 8, 1963) is an American painter, poet. One of the artists of the surrealism. The real name Catherine phosphorus sage (Katherine Linn Sage). The husband is Yves Tanguy of the painter in the same way.

Life

In 1898, I am born as the rich domestic second daughter in Albany of New York.

The sage enters the Fox Croft school of Virginia and therefore I get to know Flora pane Whitney (Whitney Museum founder) of the art collector and become the friend of the life.

I emigrate to Italian ラパッロ in the early 1920s to enter a school of higher grade in Beaux-Arts. Therefore I get married in Ranieri D sun F Usu Tino (Ranieri di San Faustino) and encounter, 1924 of the novelist. However, I have dissatisfaction towards being in the women of the rich husband and get a divorce approximately ten years after marriage. I began to pursue more artistic will and I visited France and participated in a campaign for surrealism.

Yves Tanguy

In about 1937, the sage was introduced Yves Tanguy who was a later husband from H.J. Heinz ヘンゲス of the sculptor. World War II broke out, and the sage went back to the United States immediately and pushed forward preparations to evacuate a French painter companion including tongue Guy in the United States afterwards.

On August 17, 1940, sage and tongue Guy get married in Reno of Nevada. When World War II greeted the end of the war, two people held a house to Woodbury of Connecticut and made there the workshop.

In 1955, the sage received a big shock from sudden death of tongue Guy, and the number of the works to deal with decreased remarkably. Meanwhile, she edited the list which I summarized a work of late husband tongue Guy in and completed the list which gathered up all 463 points of works of tongue Guy after eight years.

Suicide

In 1959, the sage tried the first suicide, but ended in failure, an attempt. I attempted second suicide in (three days later of the birthday of tongue Guy) on January 8, 1963 and died. It was 64 years old. The ashes of the sage were sowed in the shore of the Brittany Peninsula with ashes of tongue Guy by Pierre Matisse of the friend.
