Alta (Arta) is a city of Djibouti. It is the state capital of the Alta state and is a big city to the sixth in Djibouti. A population of 13,010 people (2012). Alta is located in the Alta Mountains, and altitude is 755m. Because it is of high altitudes, I am known for a calm climate in Djibouti. Alta is located to southwestern 35km of capital Djibouti City.
After Alta was a town from old times, and イファト sultan country and the a dull sultan country were governed, it became a part of French possession Somaliland in the early 20th century. The U.K. invaded and attacked in 1942, and British troops and the Free French of 700 people ruled the town. The development of the new place of residence was carried out when I came back under the rule in France in 1946. I dried and became the summer place of residence of the French and the Djiboutian citizen from a cool climate from the shore part. A peace negotiation to terminate a civil war in Somalia in 2000, and to establish a Somalian interim government was carried out in Alta.
Alta is linked to the neighboring cities at Djiboutian National highway No. 4. A bus runs among Djiboutian city and Alta and links both cities in approximately 30 minutes.
