Tomio Hirai (ひらいとみお, from August 21, 1927 to January 26, 1993) is a Japanese medical scientist, psychiatrist. Tokyo birth. Tokyo UniversityThe medical departmentGraduation. It is Tokyo University doctor of medicine in "the study of brain waves of the posture of contemplation" for 1,960 years. The director, a professor at Tokyo College of Domestic Science, the Director of Japan Society of Psychiatry and Neurology (the term of office: for from 1973 to 1977) served for the University of Tokyo Hospital, too.

Brain waves measured a priest of the Zen Buddhism and studied the mental condition including the alpha wave and electroencephalographic association. The pioneer-like existence in the electroencephalographic study. I participated in the establishment of the Japanese sleep society [¹].
