Table of contents
History
I was informed it, and a Christian and a Christian daimyo increased Christianity (Catholicism) only after it depended on Francisco XavierSaint of the Society of Jesus propagator in Japan in 1549. I was considered to be prohibited religion in the Edo era, but some people inherited faith as "a passing away Christian" secretly, and the propagation came to be performed by "Catholic discovery" in Oura Catholic Church of Nagasaki and prohibited religion law abolition by the Meiji government in 1873 again afterwards in 1865 by the late Tokugawa period.
Statistics
By the count [1] as of December, 2013 the number of the Japanese Catholic flocks 444,719 people [2]. The population ratio is approximately 0.341%, but, of these, I hide, and there are many descendants of the Christian, and, in Nagasaki (Joji Nagasaki parish), there is the historic process that was, and I project with 4.293% of population, and there is many it.

Parish summary
16 parishes (diocese) are put in Japan, and the bishop acts as the parish head each. Of these, Tokyo, Osaka, three places of Nagasaki become the Joji parish where an archbishop acts as the parish head, and it is in district under jurisdiction of church unifying plural parishes at the same time. In addition, in the Catholic Church, it becomes each diocese to have a juridical person in the Religious Corporation Law, and the individual churches do not have a juridical person. The put church of the bishop seat is called "a cathedral" (cathedral), and the city name to be located becomes the parish name.
The collaboration bishop and the assistance bishop assisting an archbishop and the bishop acting as each parish head and Mayor of parish do position [4] for Japan Catholicism bishop meeting [3] organized based on the Catholic New Church method and plan horizontal cooperation in Japan.
