The Ohira village (to the sea bream an irregularity) is located in the eastern part of Fukuoka and is the village which belonged to Chikujo-gun.
It merged with adjacent Shinkichi Tobimura (2005) on October 11 in 2005 and became "Koge-machi" (it seems to be like that a town).

Geography
I belong to an economic zone, the sphere of life of Nakatsu-shi, Oita to receive northeast across the Yamakuni River. Because the relations with Nakatsu-shi are close and share the history and the culture, area code (0979), zip code (871-XXXX) are the same as Nakatsu-shi, too. In addition, I have deep relation to Kitakyushu-shi to belong to the Kitakyusyu urban area.
History
- Feather county Tonoharu-mura, Tomoe village is formed with - municipality organization enforcement (1889) on April 1 in 1889.
- - feather county merges with a construction of a castle county (1896) on February 26 in 1896 and becomes Chikujo-gun.
- - Tonoharu-mura (とうばるむら) and Tomoe village merge (1955) on April 1 in 1955, and Ohira village is born. The name of a village was named for Ohirayama (おおひらやま) that extended over Tonoharu-mura at the time, both villages of the Tomoe village.
- Because it merged with - Shinkichi Tobimura equally (2005) on October 11 in 2005 and became Koge-machi, I became extinct.

Merger of cities, towns and villages
Because it is next to Nakatsu-shi across the Yamakuni River, ties with Nakatsu-shi are stronger than Buzen-shi, and there are many junior high students taking an entrance examination for the high school in Nakatsu-shi across a prefectural border.
Therefore I started merger discussion at first in Yoshitomi-machi, Shinkichi Tobimura and 3 municipalities after refusing a merger with Buzen-shi that Fukuoka showed, and having aimed at the cross-border merger with Nakatsu-shi in the future.
However, by the regulations revision that was generous with the public employee of disguised bid case around the equipment in hot spring facilities "大平樂" of the third sector and the Ohira village, Yoshitomimachi around the position of the new Government building and the opposition of Shinkichi Tobimura, the Ohira village, discussion ran into difficulties, and the merger meeting in 3 municipalities was dissolved on November 12, 2004.
